Show me your Radial Arm Saw!!!

The key to how well a saw will stay aligned is how it indexes the arm so it always returns back to 90 degrees. On the turret arm deltas, that is machined into the column in the back as well as the part that pivots for the saw itself. This is the only picture I have but it shows the...

Show me your Radial Arm Saw!!!

Thats a nice little saw, I had one pass through my hands quite a while ago, IIRC i traded it for an Onieda Cyclone which I still have. My current RAS is a delta 30c 3phase that I rebuilt a long time ago and it still gets use though not on a daily basis. 10" saw, 2hp motor. Before that I had...

    Look what followed me home

I got the new fence installed today. It's a Kreg fence, normally used for 14" saws but it works fine on this one. The instructions want you to bolt it to the side of the table and they have some elongated holes for that purpose, but this table is probably not as thick as the larger saws and...

    Woodshop Help

Sorry about your dad. You might want to enlist the services of a contractor, at least to get the building sealed up and have adequate power and HVAC running. Yeah, you can try and do it yourself, but its a lot of grunt work and it would probably take you 3-5x more time and effort than you...

    Look what followed me home

Working on setting up dust collection. I tried it out using the 3d printed adapter on the bottom and with just one 2.5" line it was ok. Still a decent amount of dust staying with the blade and traveling back up and falling on the table or falling down from under the table to the floor. I...

    Look what followed me home

Interesting coincidence. When I got this saw a few weeks ago, I was chatting with my brother up in NJ. He mentioned that he saw a little INCA 10" saw on FBMP for a couple hundred. I told him I would grab that saw at that price. I have a direct drive version that I got about ten years ago and...

    Look what followed me home

Saw has tasted wood, thankfully no blood yet. Another trip to the hardware store for some more 8mm bolts for the table but it's done. Saw is tracking very nicely with a new 1/4" blade. Takes a bit to spin up to speed and a very long time to spin down. I chalk that up to the two heavy cast...

    Look what followed me home

Making progress on the saw. Carcass painted, new plywood base with wheels made, saw mounted back on base. Started reassembling parts. Even though I took photos, its still a bit of a jigsaw puzzle going through all the screws trying to figure out what goes where. I did run into one less...

    Look what followed me home

Making progress on the saw, should have it together by the end of the week. Was never keen on the red color and there was quite a bit of chipping on the back of the saw so I decided to paint it. Choices were some type of blue or maybe the same gray I've used on the delta equipment. I might...

Dewalt MBF Radial Arm Saw- slow "restoration"

As long as they are the older Dewalt cast iron arms (round or square) or the Delta turret style saws you are good. Stay away from old craftsman or monkey ward saws, they will always have issues squaring the arm to the fence due to inherent poor design. Are you going to build a Mr. Sawdust...

Dewalt MBF Radial Arm Saw- slow "restoration"

I did one a while ago. I used hammered green but if that is not available then find a color that makes you smile. The dewalt forum is here: https://forums.delphiforums.com/woodbutcher I dont remember specifically about the bearings but lots of folks that work on old machinery go to...

    Show us your VFD conversions/installations

An arboga mill I no longer have My Delta 20" saw with the VFD mounted in the cavity that the optional blade welder would sit. Power buttons control power to the VFD and the VFD controls the motor directly. A Delta 30C Ras with the 2hp motor. Used an spare motor controller off a Unisaw to...

Well that dates it to a 7 year stretch, that is more than I knew before. Thanks.

    Look what followed me home

Last night I spritzed the lower wheel hex nut with some pb blaster and today it was much more willing to move. Lower wheel came off easy enough and there were just four bolts holding the motore on. Heavy enough thing just by itself. Here is what the motore plate shows: 60 hz motor so...

    Look what followed me home

Yeah, I found it not too long ago. Cant read it too well since its on the bottom and there is a lip obscuring it from my camera. I'll try again tomorrow. Tried to plug it in but it keeps popping the breaker. Mine is GFCI and I assume the PO's was not.

    Look what followed me home

I don't need another bandsaw, I already have two. A 20" Delta that I've had forever and a 10" Inca that I've had almost as long. They both fit a niche in my needs. The big boy works well for larger projects and resawing and the little Inca for mostly metal and plastic and some woodcutting as...

    The Track Saw Discussion . . .

I've had one of the original Festool saws for a long time. I don't use it often but when I do, it makes life so much easier. I use aftermarket track with it and they work fine and even link up with the Festool if I need them too. What makes it better than a straight edge? All you need to...

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

Finally broke down and bought a printer last week after Christmas. Prior to the printer, I got a CNC about a year ago and really just started making some things with it in the last few months. I did some online looking and it became apparent to me that BambuLabs was leading the way in the...

Delta Lamp on Disk Sander? But Not Retirement

I looked online and I didn't see a match either. It has a bit of a old sears craftsman vibe, I have one of a similar shape on an old Cman grinder. It looks similar to some older Fostoria lights but they dont seem to have the flexible gooseneck connector to the lampsocket.
