In search of a used bandsaw

Two of those saws are copies of the third one, the Delta. It is a design that has been around forever. At 450 it's a fair price if in good shape and it has the full base and a work light. It also has the riser so you can resaw wider boards too as well as a fence. If you have never owned a...

    Pressure washer pump repair

Just about any of em. Experience talking here. Ya think it was an expensive pump to begin with? Most likely Chinese made so a replacement will be anywhere from 50 on up, again Chinese made. They are not designed to be serviced, so someone who has no idea of how they work or are put together...

    Pressure washer pump repair

Just replace the pump with one of similar size, orientation and bolt pattern. It's not worth it to try and take them apart and they are cheap enough.

    Delta Bandsaw 28-203

It's a good saw for what it is. That one has the sheet metal base which was an upgrade over the open stand. For me, 450 is an ok price, probably what I would try to sell it for, not what I would buy it for. Check the condition of the tires and make sure it runs smooth enough. Lots of people...

    Walker-Turner Bandsaw 16" BEAST

Yeah, that was my thought too. I would always remove the table before transporting a saw because the trunnions for many vintage saws (lookin at you Delta) were made of pot metal and dont take much abuse. For the OP, good luck with the saw.

    Annual energy consumption guesstimate

Not sure if this will help, but I'll throw out some numbers for my home. We installed 39 panels beginning of last year, nominal rating of 15.6kw. 2200 sq ft house, no outbuildings. I'm in SE VA, so climate wise it may not be that far off your location in Oregon. Summers get in the 90's...

    The Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo

I'm only a few months in to 3d printing. I got a BL P1S mostly due to seeing quite a few reviews that pretty much said it works like an appliance. Set it up and go. And I was printing that same night it came. I didnt get it with any specific idea of what I could or would want to print, I...

Grid tie solar. Did you make it thru the winter? Net metering

We have had our system installed for about a year now. For most of the year we get a minimum bill, around 15 a month. This is in Virginia with net metering at the going rate that the utility charges customers. Probably during the dead of Winter with not too much sunshine the bill was a bit...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

I saw this thread pop up and thought I would post a couple more Delta machines for posterity. This was a 1953 Homecraft I picked up a good 15 years ago for what I dont remember but it was pretty cheap and had a retirement light on it. I cleaned it up and used it for a bit but ended up giving...

What's going on with woodworking tv shows these days?

I liked Roy but could never take him seriously. Pedal powered lathe? Seriously, and that was how many years ago?

What's going on with woodworking tv shows these days?

Cause I'm old school when it comes to that. I still watch old house and ask TOH, even the reruns. I like seeing it on the big screen although I do watch my share of Youtube vids as well. But yeah, the days when it was the only avenue for content are long gone.

What's going on with woodworking tv shows these days?

I've been a fan of woodworking on TV for a very long time. I've seen all the New Yankee Woodworker episodes and probably most of Woodsmith Shop as well. Along the way their were guys like David Marks and Tommy Mac who were great to watch and had talent and I learned a lot from all of them...

Woodworking Forums-Any good ones out there?

Please do create a section for woodworking. The few threads I've posted to on some of my recent tool refurbs have been very well received. I've been playing with wood for a very long time and have been a member of SMC, Woodnet and OWWM among others. Woodnet is pretty much dead, SMC always...

    Central Vac Anyone?

What you are really describing a need for is a dust collection system. Both a DC and central vac work on the same principle, a centralized suction machine with piping going out to where its needed for pickup. But the big difference is that a Vac is a high suction lower volume machine where a...

What’s your minimum handyman style toolkit for unexpected stuff at other people’s houses?

The only house I go to with the expectation that I need to fix things is my Stepdaughters house. And I usually have her give me some sort of list of things that need fixing so I know what to bring. It varies but basic tools and maybe an impactor and drill with some bits are usually helpful...

    Look what followed me home

Before you get too knee deep in upgrades I would go into the motor. If that motor doesn't work, you don't have a saw and I doubt you will find a replacement. I doubt you will get anywhere on oem parts either.

    Look what followed me home

No, they were fine though they were two different types. One set was brass and one was some type of wood or phenolic material. You could make new blocks out of a very hard wood like lignum vitae or some other wood. I imagine you could fabricate some out of brass if you can find the right...

    Look what followed me home

I just remembered on the guides, I did have to put new backer bearings on them. Cheap enough, bought 4 on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FDYTJS5?tag=atomicindus08-20

    Look what followed me home

Yep, that is a match to this one. I didnt do anything to the guides and the tires were in decent shape as were the bearings in the motor and wheel. The wiring in the motor was toasty. The DC with just the bottom port connected to a 2.5 inch line is just ok, with the extra port underneath the...

Show me your Radial Arm Saw!!!

They have been doing that for quite a long while. I have a miter saw that I use along with the RAS. RAS can generally crosscut quite a bit wider boards than a miter. It can also run a dado blade which is something no miter saw can. Are there other ways around that? Sure. If you have the...
