    Best Portable Fan for Garage?

I'm thinking of buying a 36" drum fan, belt driven, for air circulation and ventilation. Tractor Supply has them for $199. Would anyone recommend a different kind/type of portable fan?

Wiring for 4 Post Lift with Castors

If a 4 post lift is movable with castors how is the wiring arranged? Do you use a cord as opposed to hard wiring?

Question about the Sam's/Costco tool boxes

I just bought a CSPS 41" at Sam's yesterday. It has the diamond plate drawer fronts. Very nice, very heavy. I think I will like it. The cost was $687.

    Insulate Interior Wall

I live in north Georgia so the climate is mild. The garage is brick as well.

    Insulate Interior Wall

I'm planning on insulating the perimeter walls of my detached garage using batt insulation with vapor barrier. I also have an office and therefore an interior wall. I want to insulate it because the office will be heated/cooling all the time while the garage part will not. It should be ok to...

    Drywall alternatives?

I'm using 1"x8"x12' kiln dried pine boards. They are rough on one side and smooth on the other. I'm installing them rough side out and will not paint or stain them. The bottom 4' will be vertical and the top 6' horizontal. I'm going to install a chair rail of sorts at the transition with a...

    attic access

Re: Attic Access I know this thread died a couple of weeks ago; however, during a search it came to my attention. I have been thinking about pull down stairs for my garage attic access myself, but when I went over to HD last week it occurred to me that the rolling stairs they use for pulling...

    "Rubbing" Concrete Foundation

Part of my garage foundation walls are exposed inside. What is the best cement product to fill in the foundation wall tie holes and patch some minor honeycombing? A sand mix or non shrink grout perhaps? I will be painting them after smoothing the finish.

    Sub-Panel Power Present…But It Won’t Work

Thanks for the suggestion Roger. L1=120V, L2=120V with no load connected. L1=240, L2=0V with a lamp plugged into an outlet fed by the L1 buss. What could cause this? David

    Sub-Panel Power Present…But It Won’t Work

I just completed a sub-panel installation in my new detached garage. I have a problem I cannot figure out. The sub-panel has power, but I cannot get any items to work off of it. I’ve tried a drill and lamp to no avail (both work in the house). Voltage at the sub-panel measures (with VOM)...

    HD Fluorescent Lights

Thanks for the advice. I will try it when I get back home. I'm out of town on business for two weeks. I think the circuit is fine though. I read 120V at the CB and the wall switch. I suspect the second light may be the problem.

    HD Fluorescent Lights

Thank you. That's exactly the way I have them arranged...yellow wire at the far ends and the red and blues in the middle. I'm measuring 120V at the input terminal of the wall switch. I wanted to make sure power was getting to the switch. However, when I move the switch to the "on" position...

    HD Fluorescent Lights

Is extending wires a common necessity for new lights straight out of the box?

    HD Fluorescent Lights

I've seen a few references here related to the Home Depot 8' fluorescent light fixtures with four 4' t8 bulbs. Has anyone had any problems with the wiring? The instructions say the sockets with the blue wires from the ballast goes at the end, but they will not reach anything but the center...

    Epoxy Over Concrete Sealer?

Yes, a vapor barrier was used. I have not tested the floor for moisture, but it seems very dry to me. When I leave cardboard boxes on the floor they do not get damp or flimsy.

    Epoxy Over Concrete Sealer?

Thanks. That's what I figured the answer would be. Unknown to me, my contractor sealed the concrete with a garden sprayer as it was being finished. Some places are nice and slick with a grey color to it and others are white and not slick. If it were all like the former I'd leave it alone...
