So I finally finished rebuilding my quincy 310 compressor. Problem is, it constantly blows air out of the unloader tower hole when its running. The oil pressure is set at 20, and adjusts just fine from zero to thirty. My thoughts are that the unloader mechanism is not closing , just constantly...

So i went to Sears today to blow the last 20 bucks of a gift card. They had the three piece red handle pry bar set on sale for 19.95. But I saw the Irwin groovelock pliers 2 piece set on the rack for 17.99, which I wanted more. Apparently that was a mistake in stocking, as they rang up as 24.99...

So i ordered all new fittings for my air compressor, 1/4" npt from Mcmaster today. I figured this was the right size because the fittings I took off screw into a 1/4" npt galvanized cap. Am I correct here? Also, are 1/4" pipe threads much larger than 1/4" regular bolt threads? My 1/4" taps...

I am getting ready to put my compressor all back together. The copper discharge line it had on it is all dented up and bad looking. Would like to install a new line, what do you all recommend? I was looking at those stainless flex hoses, but don't know anything about them.

Does anyone have a quincy compressor valve retainer tool? Its the socket with the two splines on it to take the valve retainer out. Or does anyone know what to build one out of that will work? I have three that are stuck real bad, I am doing heating a pb blaster back and forth to try and loosen...

I searched and searched and can't find an answer. How can I tell the difference in these two pumps? My tag says Lincoln model 9201 and the serial number is 310-21. While stripping my new tank, I found the old Lincoln logo under the old paint. So this makes it a 1960 restoration I am doing. Anyone have a picture of that logo? I would love to paint it on the side.

My compressor tank is covered in old grease and dirt and oil. A whole can of engine degreaser barely made a dent, and I just burnt out my grinder with a wire wheel. 60 grit sandpaper is no match for this stuff. What should I use to get rid of the grease? I am going to sand the paint on there...

So the compressor i have been asking about is in fact a Lincoln pump with a Ge motor. It's a two stage pump I believe, and it runs quiet as all heck. I will be posting pictures and numbers and all. I am looking for a manual or a source for parts to rebuild if needed. Stay tuned!
