Acid Etch - What about existing Lift and Epoxy wall

I am getting ready to epoxy my floor and plan to acid etch the concrete. Currently the walls are already epoxied with a rustolem product. Will the Muratic acid affect the already painted walls and the 2-post lift that is already installed? Is there a better product to use given the constraints?

Bendpak XPR-10AS-LP arms moving at different heights

New install of a XPR-10AS-LP narrow configuration. The arm on the power side seem to move up first and is higher than the other side. When I set the lift down on its locks, the arms are level. When I start going up, it looks like the power side goes first and then the equalizer cable for the...

    Profusion Heater

I don't heat my garage all the time. Mostly a few hours a few evenings a week or during the daytime on weekend. Our winters typically low's would be in the 20's. Should be ok? I considered a nat gas heater since I have a line nearby, but after the cost to purchase and install might take a...

    Profusion Heater

Has anyone any experience with this? I have 500sqft 12' ceilings and wonder if this work well. Also, they do not recommend a remote thermostat or on/off switch and that would make it difficult to turn on and off (except for the breaker)...

    Garage Stem Wall - Finishing

When I had my garage walls poured, the forms did not release well from the concrete and left a fairly rough surface, the concrete folks applied some finishing coat on some of the rougher spots but others still do not look so good. As I get ready to paint the stem walls, I had planned on using...

New Garage in VA/Garage to Apartment Conversion - Build Thread

My garage is not so wide but long due to setbacks on my property (19x30). Yeah, I split each plug into 2 circuits. So, I can control the lights on the left and right side separately. I only had one permit for all the electrical work. I installed 2 sub-panels and a bunch of circuits. I...

Actual height required for lift install

Yep. Lift runs parallel to top bar of lift and there is a living space above. I have 14" I-Joist in the ceiling. I only need an inch or two. So, thinking about framing a box 2 inches up and mount the 5/8 drywall a little higher. I have r-38 in there which is 2" thick.

Actual height required for lift install

I just double checked my height where the lift will be installed and I have 143.5 inches. If I have to cut the ceiling drywall, will the post fit between stand floor joist that are on 16" centers?

Actual height required for lift install

I am looking to purchase a benpak XPR-10A-LP. What is min ceiling height required to install the lift. The spec shows it at 145". Can I install in a ceiling that is 145" or does the ceiling need to be higher to all for standing up the lift?

I did not use a general contractor per-se. I had concrete people, framers, roofers and siding people involved. If you are looking to manage the project yourself, than it kinda of works. I was pretty involved with each piece of the build. Otherwise, you are better off with a turnkey builder.

My concrete was a big piece of the the project too. I have 10' high foundation walls on the back of the addition due to a walk out basement with deep slope from the front to back of the house too. I figured if I was going to put so much into concrete, I had better add more square footage to...
