How to finish inside of 32x40 pole barn

Looks nice. I have a nearly similar setup. What I did was put one 2x6 vertical between posts that wAs toe screwed into the girts. I then ran horizontal 2x4 framing through the shop spaced 2 foot vertically. I then put r19 batts in those cavities. My walls are 13 feet, and I then did 4x10...

How to Weld Jeep Body Patches

I have a Lincoln square wave tig 200. It seems nice, although maybe in the grand scheme it's not. I bought a sheet of 18 gauge that I have been practicing on, watched all the vidoes on welding tips and tricks, and still seem to struggle to get good welds with the sheet metal. I seem to either...

How to Weld Jeep Body Patches

Thanks guys. Didn’t know so many were doing mig for this. Give me a good excuse for buying a new welder. 180 amp good enough for most jobs? Hobart prices seem to be better than the Lincoln. Not sure if those are good quality or not.

How to Weld Jeep Body Patches

Cutting and replacing rusty sections on the jeep body. I have a nice TIG / stick, of which I'm not the best at TIG welding. I assume TIG is the "right way to weld the panels? Not sure if **** joint or lap joint? I'm not having the best luck and curious on options. I'm much better / easier...

    Torch buyers guide

Thanks...I'm just not sure which tip you use to heat up bolts. Is that the cutting, welding, or brazing tip? What is the brazing tip for? Other than the basic sets at Lowes / HD, I'm not entirely clear where to get them. I'm assuming the little portable kit won't last long? I frequently...

    Torch buyers guide

Don’t know anything about them, but I am looking for some thing that can heat up bolts to remove them as well as cut through things that won’t budge. I hear victor is a good brand, but not sure how important that is. Are there different tips I need to look for based on needs? Any...

    Broke bolts

How do you know how hot? It’s a painted / visible section of the floorboard. I’m assuming the paint in that whole area will be toast? Most of them are welded body nuts, so I can access the top of the bolt, but no good way to access much else.

    Broke bolts

Help! I have an old Jeep cj7 that I am restoring. It seems 75% of the bolts I try to remove from the body tub are rusted stuck. I have tried every trick in the book, Kroil, pb blaster, numb nuts, torch, etc and none of them have loosened. I’ve had to drill, and most of these are big bolts and...

Teaching myself to TIG weld - possible?

I am in the exact same boat. Learning how to weld and struggling with good results. Anyone in the Kansas City area willing to give me a lesson or two for a fee? I have a Lincoln gig 200 and am generally doing all the recommendations above.

    Effective Sand Blaster Option

Based on what I've been able to deduce, I'm tempted to buy a HF unit, replace the T on the bottom with a Wye, then replace the gun with a Boron tip / gun you can get on Ebay. Should be able to do all that under $200 vs $400 for the Texas Blaster (+ shipping)

    Effective Sand Blaster Option

Anyone ever used the blast master? For these pressure pot units, is it practical to assume you can recover the media if using a tarp?

    Effective Sand Blaster Option

I have a 60 gallon upright. I expect to do both cabinet and outside

    Effective Sand Blaster Option

Stupid question, but is the difference in hf and the skat option just the giun? If I want to blast outside, can I just buy the $150 skat gun and be fine? Or by the hf cabinet and replace with the skat gun?

    Effective Sand Blaster Option

Wow...a little pricier than I was expecting. Any other options that might be a little more DIY friendly?

    Effective Sand Blaster Option

I have a rusty old jeep I'm restoring and have lots of rust to remove. i;m always looking for an excuse to get a nice new tool. I know many use the wire brushes, but is there a sand blaster (short of the mobile snad blasting rigs) that is effective and reasonably priced? Do the harbor freight...

Control joints (saw cuts): To Fill, Or Not To Fill -- That Is The Question

When you apply the sikaflex, do you scrap it smooth, or does it truly "self-level" and spill over onthe tape (and just remove the tape)?

    My ArmorPoxy experience

Have any pictures with the caulk applied to the joints? Is that the self-levelign stuff from Home Depot? Is it hard or squishy?

Replacing Metal on Pole Barn w/ Spray Foam

Several places where it is damaged, it would not lay nicely over the top.

Replacing Metal on Pole Barn w/ Spray Foam

Have 2" of closed cell spray foam on the roof. Has any removed and replaced the metal on a pole barn that has been spray foamed with closed cell? I've heard some people say it's impossible to get it off, and others say it comes right off and the foam stays put. I'm assuming the foam is going...
