Sears.com hot deals and clearance thread

I got it from Bowers Tools on Ebay. But from what I've read those fix-it instructions are only good for the USA models. The wrenches I ordered were delivered and they are from China...uh... probably going to return.

    Craftsman 19.2v C3 Fans

Hey that fan looks great. The one I just picked works great. Of all the other discontinued C3 tools I think the last one I want is the buffer. The buffer looks like it could be pretty handy.

Craftsman electronic digital torque wrench - formerly made by the Danaher company of Alpharetta, Georgia (U.S.A.) COO = CHINA Since I found this other web site with fix-it instructions for the torque wrench, I'm going to take the gamble. Fix-it instructions only good for USA models...

    bench grinder Jet vs Jet

Well AH, I had my eye on this Baldor 1-HP Bench Grinder but I just can't see forking out $1,626.35 for DIY home use. I don't plan on using the thing in a metal fab business. So I figured something under $300 in the 1-hp range would be sufficient to run this grinder attachment...

    Compressor Grit?

I bet older Sears units and similar models that did not have air filters were much more susceptible to this.

    Compressor Grit?

When I cleaned out my old Sears compressor tank, I got a lot of that gritty stuff out as well. It's a mix of dirt and oil. The dirt or dust comes from the unfiltered air that is sucked into the compressor pump. The oil comes from the oil lubricated compressor pump itself...

    resto-mod vintage Sears air compressor

Here are a couple of pics of the compressor pump painted and installed. I used a smaller 2 1/2" diameter gauge for now. I'll work the bigger gauge into the system somewhere else. Obviously the bolts are going to need some touching up with some additional spray paint.

    resto-mod vintage Sears air compressor

Got the compressor pump repainted and put back together. Had a minor disaster when putting the head-bolts back in; one of the 6 head-bolts sheared off right above the top of the block. Luckily there was enough bolt sticking out that I got a pair of vise grips on it and unscrewed it. I read...

    Snap On socket end wrenches

Technically it's a flex-head socket wrench. Saltus is Latin for antiquated. The saltus wrench has been replaced by a new invention called a flex-head socket wrench.

New SK Socket Set Chrome Peeling. Normal Use?

That's defects of material and workmanship right there. The only way to teach these people a lesson is send the whole lot back.

    Old Craftsman Socket set $$$

Isn't that an 8-point socket? Older socket sets frequently came with them.

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Steven's Craftsman Space

I never go to pawn shops but every once in a long while you can find something kinda good...found a group of 1/4 drive 8-point sockets. Pretty cool. That brings the collection of mostly Craftsman mixed with a few of S-K, Snap-on, and Proto Professional sockets up to 663.

    Craftsman 28" Wide Wall Cabinet - Black/Platinum

I like the red ones myself. And good advise from thedoc46. I recommend ordering twice as many as you actually need/want. Chances are half the stuff will be damaged beyond recognition anyhow. If it's not, just return that you don't want right there on the spot.

OMG. After all those posts that's what you got? You said "best". If you really want "best" look for one of these on eBay. Thin head and stainless steel probably last forever for DIY guy.
