    TSC JobSmart Blast Cabinet Modifications

Yeah, I need to redo the deflector since a small amount of media seems to make its way out onto the floor. I have an old plastic container that I'm going to cut one end off of and mount it over the inlet holes which should prevent any media (or at least greatly reduce it) from escaping. Other...

Wow! Is that in a hospital operating room? [emoji6] Super nice!

No, it wasn't- just really weathered.

    Large Mail & Package Slot

Exactly. The town I'm in is relatively safe- stuff can happen anywhere, but generally, things like were mentioned above don't happen here. Good idea on the trap door box. I might have to cut a hole in the porch floor and mount a box to the bottom between the joists. [emoji3]

    Large Mail & Package Slot

Thanks! Trust me, I've thought of all kinds of scenarios like what you mentioned and came to the same conclusion- if somebody wants in or to cause harm to my house, it won't matter if there is a mail slot or not. At least now, it's much more difficult to steal my mail if someone were so...

    Large Mail & Package Slot

I just completed a large mail/package slot on my front porch. I have an enclosed porch and had a mailbox mounted to the outside of the porch (no drive-up curb mailboxes on my street). For years I've wanted to put this slot in so I would have a more secure mail and package arrival system. Now I...

    Welding resistant floor

My dad has done tons of welding in his shop over the last 10+ years and the epoxy coated floor has stood up well. Has some burn marks, but I can't believe how well it has stood up to the rigors of welding and cutting with a torch. I have the same coating on my shop floor but don't have a...

    TSC JobSmart Blast Cabinet Modifications

Thanks! The intake airflow keeps the bottom of the deflector clear. As long as I leave the Shop Vac on for a few seconds after blasting, the residual dust and media settles in the hopper area. As mentioned in the blog post, the main reason for mounting the deflector that way is to keep the...

    Workbench I designed and built

Exactly. If it weren't built the way it is, there is no way the angle iron brackets would have been sufficient to keep the legs plumb. Of course, using the brackets was way overkill, but the sucker is so solid, it's crazy.

    Workbench I designed and built

Well, I arrived at that height (basically 34"- only 1/8" less, most likely due in part to the compression of the rubber on the casters since it hasn't moved in a few years) by doing research at the time and 34" was the standard height. I actually wouldn't mind if it were a little taller since...

    Sig test

I have no idea why it's there or how to get rid of it. Maybe trying too many things, color, size, etc. for the sig?

Is the fine line still above my sig?

    Sig test

Added a sig and can't see it- just testing to see if it shows up here. Maybe it only shows up on new posts? Yep, only on new posts. Where did that fine line above it come from?

    Workbench I designed and built

I designed and built this workbench about 10 years ago. It's over built like a brick sh!thouse, but I'd rather have too stout of a workbench than a wimpy one. It's probably strong enough to set a small car on top of. I have no idea what it weighs, but if I had to guess, probably around 250...

    TSC JobSmart Blast Cabinet Modifications

Thanks, guys! I updated the post to include some of the shortcomings of this cabinet and a couple more pics- one of package for the light I purchased from Menards and another showing the interior lit up with both lights on.

    work benches... from scratch

Here are a couple pics of the bench I designed and built myself 10 years ago. When I moved into my house about 15 years ago, there was an old bridge plank made of yellow pine, leaning against the wall in the garage (Thank you, previous owners!). I took it up to my dad's and planed it down to...
