How are tools at auctions generally sold?

Around here, the beer boxes would be sold as separate lots. The grinders and saws might be sold individually, or for "one money" and take your choice for as many as you want. Under bidders get whats left over at the same price. Anything left after that gets thrown together and bid on again...

    Ball Hex Driver Brand Preference

I have 3 sets each (metric and standard) of Bondhus balldrivers as well as a couple fold up styles. I use them everyday. I would never buy an Allen brand. They seem soft as they round off rather quickly. A set of these can be found all the time for about $20. I also have a Wiha t-handle...

    Driveway bridge ??

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be involved at the mere mention of a structure over water. Good luck with that. BTDT

    More TheToolwarehouse stupidity

The reason they ask if you'd like it shipped, is probably because so many people cancel anything shown as backordered. I think that's part of the "I want mine now!" society we live in today.

    Help (w/ pics)

I enhanced the picture a little and I believe there are ground wires in the box. With a lot of paint on them, but I think they are there. I circled three in this picture. Make sure the power is off and unfold the wires, the grounds were probably the first wires shoved into the box.

Help find Slug Buster at a good price

I still can't get him to tell me how he wants it shipped back to him. I asked 3 times. This is the first line of the last email from him: I will only refund the purchase price. Not the shipping.

Help find Slug Buster at a good price

Was the seller "buyselltn"? Yes, I fell into the trap. His answer to me was: It clearly stated in the "Comment" section that this item is NOT a Greenlee Brand. Strange that when I go to Amazon and check my orders I get this page. And in every email about this it states: Amazon Marketplace...

Does anyone use line wrenches that AREN'T Snap On?

I've never bought flare nut wrenches. I've never had to cut a good usable line to replace a damaged fitting. Its usually the other way round. The line is **** and a new line comes with fittings anyway.

    Property tax on finished garage's

Here in Maryland the amount of doors matters. One door equals one car. Two doors equals two cars. And so on. Square footage isn't taken into account, except determining overall footprint. My 24 x 35 one car 2 floor garage is taxed less than 24 x 24 2 door single floor garages. My house and...

neat way to hang your vise grips

I dunno. I think it would be better if they were clamped onto or around something vs. hanging from the screw. If they were clamp around, say a 3/8" steel rod shaped like a cheap towel bar, you could have easy access to any of the 40 odd clamps hung on it. As it is, you have quick access to any...

    WEATHERHEAD®, POZIDRIV® and British Standard

I can in all honesty say, I have never owned, never used a clutch style drive tool and don't recall ever seeing a fastener to use one with. Still, if I had some I would keep them.

    WEATHERHEAD®, POZIDRIV® and British Standard

I think you may be talking about "clutch" drivers. Sometimes called butterfly. Here's a not so good picture of the tip from the Snap-on website. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/objects_lg/49500/49436.JPG Wiha has a page depicting most driver style, except for the Xeno type. I have these two...

    buying tools with initials

Do any of you mark your own tools? Ever had any stolen? How do you prove they are yours instead of someone elses? I've found some of mine. I do engrave my tools at work. Some at home are marked. Those with serial numbers are recorded somewhere safe. If marked tools diminish their value, so...

I won on eBay - By Accident!

Maybe you should just feel good for yourself as you helped that seller double what he would hav gotten without your bids. Or maybe you scared off any competition since your user name is a Snap-on wrench part number. Maybe everybody here should be scared as your username here is a tank. Or...

    Slip joint pliers

If I were forced to buy one of these choices, it would be the Channellocks. Quite honestly, though, I probably wouldn't buy either, as I find that style of pliers sort of useless. I think I've got a pair somewhere, but I know they aren't in a tool box at home or work.

Who wants to put their metric taps to good use?

If you could get a 1/8-27 NPT sending unit from VDO that would be the correct temp. range you just drill a 1/2" hole in the pan and install this or most other manufacturers drain plug kit.

Who wants to put their metric taps to good use?

Does it really have to go into a pressure port? Can't it be located in the pan instead? Adding a bung with the proper threads to the pan seems like an easier undertaking and less prone to forceful leaks.

    Pliers organization

I've got one of those from etoolcart for $20. Works fine for me. I don't think it looks cheesy as its hardly noticable.
