Coming to a city near you!

From their website: Beta has long been established as one of the world\'s leading hand tool manufacturers and has distributors in over 93 counties. The brand has become synonymous with high standards of design, quality, and service. From me: If they have such high standards, why don't they...

Looks like MAC Air tools do come in Clamshells

I'd be more willing to accept it as new vs. one in no packaging appearing as new. That packaging gets destroyed when opened.

    Riding Mowers

At work we've got a small John Deere. Its about two years old. Both front wheels and tires were replaced this past summer. The new tires are nearly bald now. One wheel has had the bushings replaced. I made the bushings as JD doesn't list them as separate from the wheel, its all or nothing. It...

TJIs vs floor trusses vs attic trusses for gambrel roof

From your picture it looks like 2" x 12" joists being used. Truss Joists could be used instead of that. My garage used 4" x 16" and had a live load rating of 2-3000 lbs per joist. Its been 7 years since those numbers were in my head. That size was used as the architect knew I had a pool table...

    Biggest decision ever...

I've recently built a 36 x 60 x 14 Strat-o-Span building to be used as a barn. It was just under $16K. That included the options, 2 12' x 12' sliding doors, one man door and 4 skylights. Equipment rental for site prep and the steel erection came to about $4K. As its a barn for horses and...

    Yesterday's Lunch - Indigestion?

If that really is a 9/16-24 tap (and not misstamped) you've got huge hands. On my screen that measures 3 1/4" accross the flats and the center hole is about 1/2". Generally speaking though, if you needed 3 or 4 of those 1" taps, you'd have spent the $100 and more.

I got one of those on ebay with a box of sockets.

That's what I was thinking also. Break a bolt loose , then run it out like a nut driver.

    Insurance coverage for radiant floor?

They will be if they melt down/burn off to the floor level. No, I've never dealt with this on my insurance.

What's your best Yard Sale find?

Well, four years ago I was having a yardsale and a customer ask if I had dropped my money. There was a big pile of cash all over the floor towards the back of my garage. I ask the 6 or so people if they had dropped it, as it wasn't mine. I scooped it up and gave to my wife to take upstairs to...

    Would you buy stolen tools?

But "we" do shop there. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9314 For what its worth, I would buy from any of the mentioned places. Pawn shops here are highly regulated, they report to the police what they get in. If its stolen it found out at that time. Unfortunately, their...

    Good reuseable cleanable fluid pump

I've done a similar thing at work just using the plastic 5 gallon bucket with a lid. Bulkhead fittings in the top, one with a pickup tube just to the bottom and the other attached to an air valve I had handy. I could certainly fill some awkwardly placed hydraulic tanks quickly.
