Upgrading automatic wire stripper for small scale production

I'd give the regular Knipex automatic strippers a try (12 62 180). They're a little more stout than the Felo strippers, and will probably work a little better for you. If you still feel those are lacking, I would step up to the Knipex 12 40 200. I think they're more awkward to use, but they...

Looking for quality small kit...see attached photo..

That is one weird thing about the Bosch sets, the only one that comes with a flathead tip is this set, which is overpriced. I bought this set of Irwin flat bits to put in my Bosch bit sets. The Bosch cases have 4 extra bit holding spots that are kind of hidden. They're on the top and bottom...

Premiere outdoor USA 19’ mechanics combo cabinet system

Wish they listed more detailed specs on their website, but they look to be very high quality cabinets, at a decent price point. Cheaper than most tool truck or Lista/Vidmar boxes. For a home use garage I think I'd rather piece together more budget friendly tool boxes like US General or Husky...

Looking for quality small kit...see attached photo..

Lots of bit sets out there that will meet your needs... I like the Bosch kits the best. I think the bits are good quality, and the cases are great quality. This Bosch bit set is the most universal and pretty much the same as the one in your original post.

    Network cable

Cat6. If its in conduit you can just get the regular stuff that they sell on the shelves at Home Depot. If its in the ground or exposed to the elements you want the outdoor or direct burial rated stuff that has the thick black jacket and the gel fill. The outdoor stuff is probably a good idea...

    Diamond Metal Cutting Blade

I have one for a 4.5" grinder, and I don't care for it. Its much thicker than an abrasive cutting disc, and cuts a lot slower and creates more heat. Also useless for cutting aluminum. For a large diameter disc doing a lot of cuts into steel, I can see where it could be the right tool for the...

    Channellock snap ring pliers

One of my coworkers has a pair that I've used a few times. For snap ring pliers with interchangeable tips, I think its about the best one on the market. If you only encounter snap rings every once in awhile, and just want 1 pair of pliers to throw in your toolbag, its hard to choose a better...

Shortest 1/4 Hex to Square Adapter

Those are perfect! I've been looking for a 1/4" stubby adapter for ages. At $7 for a set those are a no brainer. Thanks!

Need help deciding - toolbox vs cabinets

Its a camera artifact from taking the picture in "panoramic" mode. The workbench top is straight and true across the entire length of the toolboxes.

Best way to set steel mailbox post

I re-set my mailbox post 3 years ago. It was just a basic metal post kit that was at the house when I moved in, but was getting loose and crooked, it was just stuck into the dirt without any concrete or anything. I welded some rebar to the base of it, dug a hole about 18" deep and 14" in...

Need help deciding - toolbox vs cabinets

I'm also on team "toolbox". And then build/buy upper cabinets as necessary. When you price it out, you get MUCH more usable drawer space by buying toolboxes compared to any wall cabinet combo deal.

    Tekton Upgraded Their Hammers

Tekton has really been stepping up their game lately, improving a lot of their tool selection and quality.

Heat shrink printer for labeling wiring

I have a Rhino 5200 that my work bought me. Its alright. I bought a Brother P-touch labeler that works off computer software and USB for my home use. Both labelers will do shrink tube labels. I MUCH MUCH prefer the Brother P-touch labeler that works through a laptop and USB. I can lay out...

    Questions for Knipex fans

Cobras. In my opinion, in the order of usefulness: 10" first 7" second 12" third 5" fourth 22" fifth 4" sixth Your use case may vary. I wouldn't bother with the Cobra "quickset" pliers... they're not that great. The auto adjusting pair is surprisingly good.. its like what the Craftsman Robo...

    Material Handling straps etc

Northern Tool and Equipment has a pretty good selection for a brick and mortar store. I trust their equipment more than HF... I use Northern Tool straps for towing my cars and motorcycles and they do well.

Garage shelf design - am I missing something?

How much weight do people really put on their shelves? Half of suburban garages have plastic shelves that probably can't safely hold more than 50lbs per shelf. What's the shear strength of a drywall screw? 300lbs? Presumably you'd have 2 or 3 screws per 2x4, so you can do like 500lbs per 2'...

    Tool Drawer Storage Foam?

Kaizen foam and a razor knife are the most popular options. You can route it with a router or CNC mill if you want to get fancy. Another cheapish alternative is foam floor tiles. Lots of more expensive options out there also, like this. I watched a video of a guy who had 2 layers of foam...

Opinions on New Options for Remodel Can Lights

Almost all the lights in my house are the canless recessed lights. I think they're fantastic. I buy 20% more than needed for the job to have spares for when they inevitably fail. I have Torchstar branded lights from Amazon, and they seem to be a good mix of quality and cost. They are working...

Sick of crappy slip joint pump pliers... Which knipex to get?

Cobras are fantastic, you won't regret buying them at all. I use the 10" the most, and the 7" pair the 2nd most. 7" Pliers Wrench probably makes the most sense to buy. The pliers wrenches have pretty big heads and are a little bulky. 7" is more maneuverable than the 10". In my experience...
