    Ratchet Straps in Tool Box

How many of you keep ratchet straps in your tool box? Not for securing loads but I mean for automotive work. Reason I am asking is a few weeks I was working on a mid-90s Bronco. I was installing a lift kit and it has a TTB suspension. I could not get radius arms to line up. After hitting...

    Matco Scope

Today I took a chance and bought a Matco MD4000F (OTC rebadge) from a pawn store for $150. Of course after reading some of info on this board, I was naturally interested in trying out a scope. I happen to come across this as it was listed on craigslist and I drove after work to check it out...

    OTC Puller Replacement parts

Picked up Mac pp827b, which I am pretty sure is a rebadged OTC7394. It is 5 legs, the hub and the striking wrench. Seller had it listed for $50 and I offered him $25. He took it but it is missing the pulling screw. My question is where is the best place (cheapest) to buy OTC puller parts...

    The next torque wrench

So far this year I have bought both the 3/8" and 1/2" precision instruments torque wrench. The 3/8" goes from 20-100 ft/lbs and the 1/2" goes 40-250 ft/lbs. Looking to pick out my Xmas gift (wife and I pick out our own gifts :)) I am thinking I want something in the inch lbs range. Wish they...

    20-29 mm Sockets

It seems that most 1/2 metric socket sets don't contain many sockets in the 20-29 range. Why is that? Are they not used much? Sometimes they may contain 21, 24, 27, but most of the time they stop at 19.

    Jeeper's Garage Sale Haul

A guy in my neighborhood was selling lot of tools. Talked to him a bit and he said that he spent a few years buying and selling used tools. He had a pretty good sized table with Craftsman socket rails. I ended up getting 2 3/8" rails, one metric and one SAE, in 12pt shallows for $10. Also...

    Android Torque

Has anyone used the Android Torque app? I recently purchased it and it seems pretty slick. It can check codes, graphy and log live data. Obviously not dealer level, but for the $25 ($20 bluetooth adapter + $5 app costs), it seems pretty slick. Even has some limited enhanced manufacture...

    Matco AFR88T

This week, I picked up a Matco AFR88T. It's a 1/4" ratchet that is 8" long. So far it was a good purchase. I always thought 1/4" ratchets seemed useless because they were so small, then I bought an Armstrong locking flex and I used it frequently. Saw Matco released this new series. So far I...

    Matco Axle Nut Set

I have the Matco sales flyer and they have the 7pc axle nut socket set for $71.50. On top of that, i think I can get for a few dollars cheaper for paying in cash. Thinking about getting a set. Do you all think it's a good deal? My only gripe is they aren't made in the USA...

    New Bench Grinder

Picked this up yesterday at a garage sale. Guy had it listed in craigslist for $100. Walked up to him in the garage sale and asked how much to which he replied $75. Sold. Easiest negotiation I have been apart of. It's a Dayton 3/4 hp, 8" grinder. It didn't come with tool rests which I will...
