Considering Ballistix for my new garage floor

Yep, It really comes down to how you are personally defining "stands up to" and "abuse". If you tried (abused) a quality, properly applied epoxy and it didn't meet your personal definition of "stands up to" then yeah, it failed... you.

Considering Ballistix for my new garage floor

"So tired of these various epoxy floors no holding up to even light garage work." To be fair, Ballistix, Coval, Hell Fire, Polyureas are not epoxies. Not implying anything negative about them in particular but would like to differentiate and be a little more specific when we discuss the ups and...

Where to stop epoxy at/past garage door...?

It's risky going this direction unless primer is UV stable as well. I've seen primers chalk-up underneath UV stable urethanes. IMHO the juice aint worth the squeeze, keep it all behind the door...

Remove Garage Coating that Contractor Extended Outside the Garage Door

This actually works better than a diamond cup... 80grit. It's been about 10 years since I've done this myself, here's to another 10! We taped off and applied AcryliSeal 3501 afterwards, came out looking very good but it's only available in 5 gal so unless you've got other stuff to seal...

Remove Garage Coating that Contractor Extended Outside the Garage Door

Use a circular saw with a segmented diamond masonry blade set very shallow, have a couple of guys stand on either end of a straight 2x4 acting as a fence and score the coating with the saw. This will get you to about 5-6" on either end then switch to an oscillating multi-tool with a diamond...

Where to stop epoxy at/past garage door...?

Hold all of it to the inside of the door, besides the U.V. concern it just looks funky to have the coating stick out below the door. IMHO.

Where to stop epoxy at/past garage door...?

Hold the coating to the inside edge of the door.

Is there a “pre-mixed” trowelable fast solution for a garage floor?

Here's another cliche for ya, "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is". You fret about the crazy thermal excursions that you see in upstate NY and then tout about the wonders of DAP. "Just sweep and it adheres" "longer lasting than concrete itself" "Surface agnostic" "You’d have to...

Is there a “pre-mixed” trowelable fast solution for a garage floor?

High pressure washing really isn't a good prep for any coating. If you're careful it can be useful when cleaning a floor as part of a prep process but not as a final step. They will leave a very inconsistent surface profile and the potential for deep gouges is highly likely as well as the...

How do I start over on this floor?

TR3s... beautiful cars. Brother had a Healey 3000 MKIII, miss driving that car!! The upper room is interesting, you noted that you're getting rid of the stairs... what are you planning for that area?

How do I start over on this floor?

Looks like paint. If you want to coat it the paint will need to be ground off. If grinding isn't of interest then you'll need to cover it with floating floor like snap down tiles or a laminate. What type of work will you be doing?

Is there a “pre-mixed” trowelable fast solution for a garage floor?

Oh man... heading down a rabbit hole here. I should be more specific, there are different types of VOCs some harmful, some not. Some are odorous, some aren't. Water is an odorless VOC and it is obviously not generally not considered dangerous, it becomes volatile when it evaporates going from a...
