Metric or sae crow foot - which do you use more?

I've got a Craftsman set in SAE and a Northern Tool wing wang metric set. The flare nut crows feet are good for racks, p/s pumps etc.. i have some mixed no name size flare nut crows feet. I have yet to wear any of mine out after 14 years. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Best lube for toolbox drawer slides

Cleaning out the old gunk is going to pay off better than applying more lubes/grease/wax. The boxes I'm doing were greased with wheel bearing grease and it was a mess. Power washing, scrubbing the channels with a brass brush and acetone and a million old towels later the drawers open and...

My Snap On KRA-637/657 Roller Cab Restoration

Yeah there's a lot of surface area by the time you do all the drawers inside and out, so if it's not rusty or down to bare metal I didn't do a lot with the drawers. I primed some all over and some just the inside and still used well over a quart of primer. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

My Snap On KRA-637/657 Roller Cab Restoration

I totally agree! I had a few drawers with paint damage inside, probably from battery acid or some strong chemical and had no choice but to do mine. Once again, less more, the results will be about the same. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

My Snap On KRA-637/657 Roller Cab Restoration

Re: Update 2 I don't know if taking the drawers all the way to bare metal would be worth it. If the old paint is completely dirt and oil free, then prep wipe, scuff and prime them Short of using electrolosys or lots of sand blasting getting the drawers down to bare steel is.. well a bear...

Help needed with Craftsman Torque Wrench

To put it this way, I was taught that torque instruments are to be treated as well as possible in a shop enviroment. That being said, after a while a torque instrument will wear , calibration and tolerances change over time from use. If its 10.00 bucks or a 1,000.00 it will wear out or go out...

My Snap On KRA-637/657 Roller Cab Restoration

Amazon has the Valspar enamel hardener as well for 12 bucks prime shipping. Its got great reviews with lots of folks using the product with Rustoleum. I keep finding reasons not to go to TSC since it's now almost 40 minutes away from my house. Ugh! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

    Odd older Snap-on cabinet

[emoji16] agreed! But my better half was concerned about my sanity by wanting another greasy old tool box. However... there is a big flea market this weekend... Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Where to buy Snap-on for home use

I like the Snap on stuff, but don't over look the other companies, MAC and Cornwell make nice stuff too. I did buy my screwdrivers new because I didnt want to buy a used set that had been used for chisels/punches. The used Snap on ratchets have all came from ebay, and if I needed a rebuild kit...

    Odd older Snap-on cabinet

There was one of these locally but it had a cabinet in the back like a taco wagon. It was at a transmission shop and it was about 50.00. Maybe it's for transmissions or a brake lathe? I was tempted but..cooler heads prevailed (my wife said I had met my tool storage quota ) Sent from my SCH-I545...

    Damaged Cornwell Ratchet. Thoughts?

For the Ebay ratchets I've bought, I mentally note how much a gear kit would cost (for the Snap on's 9.00-12.00 bucks). I stick to the price I want to pay plus a rebuild kit. Ive had pretty good luck with that plan and its worked out that I've only replaced 2 kits, one from wear and the...

    How strong are ratcheting wrenches???

I have Craftman USA's too, they are reversible and I prefer them over the Gearwrenches I have. If they were slightly longer they would be perfect. I would have used a torch/ cut off wheel to get those links off. Ain't nobody got time for breaking wrenches! Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

    what's this worth?

As a working tool box, I don't see that much utility with the layout and built in locker/ hutch. Maybe 650?? If the condition was nice Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Vintage Snap on restorations 1st post!

Good to know again, thanks so much. I don't mess with the safety stuff. A mask is cheaper than a set of lungs. I'm going to the big Hershey Fall AACA show/swap meet with the Mrs. And I will be off Columbus Day so I'm hoping I can shoot some paint then. I got my new drawer slides from Snap...

crome universal joint 6 point socket set 1\4.

I found some closeout Craftsman 1/4 flexes a year or so back and got a 7mm for Ford ignition coils and a 10mm. I can't remember what I paid for them but it was 8-10 bucks. Could have been a fluke on the price, but I like them for handful of times I've used them Sent from my SCH-I545 using...

Vintage Snap on restorations 1st post!

I tip my hat to you for your efforts just the same. These things test your patience! The Rustoleum is ok as an off the shelf product but I am curious about adding hardener. I'm a supremely inpatient painter so I hope try #2 will turn out better. I'm worried about adding hardener to the paint...
