    Waterproof bathroom walls

That would work for sure, but at the price of Red Guard and the hassle properly covering everything, I'd opt for FRP.

Electrolysis Cleaning Problem-Charger trips when power is applied

Sounds like just too much current is being drawn and tripping their overloads. What kind of container are you using, and are you sure the two leads aren't in contact with each other?

    Minor assembly required...

I think he just wrote it in the wrong order, rip the foam, put between the joists from the bottom then metal. Or maybe I interpreted it wrong.

    What is this old Tool?

Some size info and photo of the other side would help I think. If it's 1' or 1" could make a difference.

    French drain question

Most such drains in my area are covered with filter fabric before covering anyway. Usually drain rock below, then to the top of the pipe, filter fabric and cover. cover can be dirt or your drive gravel. Some put the fabric on the bottom, add rock, and wrap the fabric over before cover...

    Quartz etc., and acrylic pan

I have a low profile (1 1/4") threshold acrylic pan. From Lowes, The Onyx Collection brand, it is solid, there are no voids anywhere so loading is not an issue. But, darn, that thing is heavy! Must be completely supported though as it will flex under constant load. Very good pan BTW...

Is EBay completely worthless or does it just seem that way to me

Not explicitly, but the original post in this thread was about a seller failure. So some of us assumed one thing. Some another. So we're both half right.

Is EBay completely worthless or does it just seem that way to me

In my reply you are responding too had a phrase was changed to red in my quote of it. In an earlier reply I posted a quote from eBay stating negative feedback about a buyer is not allowed. Even a negative comment inside a positive feedback is subject to disciplinary action by the bay. Edit...

Is EBay completely worthless or does it just seem that way to me

I have a feedback score in excess of 1500, and cannot leave a negative feedback for a buyer. That was removed years ago. this is copied from ebay: Leaving feedback for buyers Leaving feedback for your buyers is a great way to say thank you. We recommend you leave feedback for your buyers as...

Is EBay completely worthless or does it just seem that way to me

The red part is the change. Negative feedback for buyers by sellers was a thing in the early years. Been using the bay since '98 and remember it well. Lots of 'arguments', like 'not as described', 'is too it's a used gadget' etc. Not terribly useful, but a way for sellers to counter...

Is EBay completely worthless or does it just seem that way to me

There absolutely was. I've used the bay since '98 and remember it well. Buyers that made false claims about products and sellers could and would have feedback with the 'rest of the story', borrowing from Paul Harvey there.

Is EBay completely worthless or does it just seem that way to me

I agree on fees charged on tax and shipping. But the shipping charged by eBay, was your choice. You could use free shipping using actual cost or the calculated that you chose. I usually use free, especially when the item will fit in a Flat Rate box so I can use that price + handling fee...

Is EBay completely worthless or does it just seem that way to me

I've had good experiences with DeWalt purchases on the bay. But, if buying new I make sure the seller is and authorized dealer. That assures that the warranty is valid. If there is any doubt, you can as Stanley/Black and Decker. The of course have a dealer list and will tell you if the...

Is EBay completely worthless or does it just seem that way to me

Depending on who/how your taxes are done, it is not likely that any tax is or was due on sales of personal items. 1099s don't automatically trigger a tax, especially if it is used stuff that you bought new, then sold cheaply. And remember all selling costs should be deducted from the figure...

    Cellulose settling question

Well, it' pretty easy to figure out when you're done, but really difficult as you are installing. Once done, measure the depth in feet (in decimal, .5, 1.5etc) multiply by the area and calculate using the weight on the bags you emptied. You can do the same beforehand to determine the depth...

Local utility coop sent out wiring insurance offer. Why are they doing that???

My utilities, other than gas, are owned/sold by the local city government. Sewer, water, electricity and trash service. A few years ago they offered the water line service insurance provided by a third party. Since my home was built in the late 60s, and had galvanized steel pipes I opted...

I'm look at a 30" commerical griddle for use at home.

I'm gonna bury a related question here since it seems to be attracting a lot of interest. Trying to decide between a flattop of some brand, could be gas or electric, vs a countertop induction two 'burner' thing under my cast iron griddle. Mostly outdoor under roof, maybe a little use on...

    I lost a leg...

Sorry to hear that. I was hoping that you would find the same as I've had three times now. The "fuse" on one of the 3 conductors, (3ph service) line to transformer, had tripped. In all one case there was a dead squirrel at the foot of the pole, the other two were during some lightning...

Building Code Question for 2nd Story I-joist Direction

that quote was directly from IRC. It's my assumption that they are referring to the way it has been done for over 100 years. Joist extends from the outside edge of the stud, lays on the let-in 1x and face nailed/screwed to the stud. edit: forgot to include the squash blocks and structural...

Building Code Question for 2nd Story I-joist Direction

I'm amused at the use (over-use?) of hangers vs let-in ledgers in current construction. I have a lot of remodels under my belt, most in homes built in the first half of the last century. All of them, up until after WW2 were balloon framed, everyone framed with full 2x4 yellow pine with a...
