    Wow, That's a tool store

That store would ****, because my fat *** wouldn't fit down most of the isles! I can see it now, me in there bending over to check something out and knocking over half of the store. And where are the Pittsburgh Tools. They must keep the in the special by appointment only VIP back room, so that...

    it's 2013 garage sale season!...

I stop there about every other week in the summer. Don't buy much but they alway treat me good. I was suprised also, I just wanted to look through the sockets and he said make me an offer on all of it. That 3 drawer bottom looks like a Cman homeowner box. I have two of them. one gray and...

    Opinions on ChannelLock Brand

I love my Channellocks. I've only got 9 or 10 pairs so far and plan on adding a whole lot more. I only have one complaint. They do not sell the Channellock blue tool dip. I like keeping my tools looking nice, but sometimes $hit happens and the grips get messed up. I want to be able to rectify...

The Circlip Pliers Thread: Show'em All!

That's cool. I figured they were out of production. I wonder if you can get spare tips?

The Circlip Pliers Thread: Show'em All!

I just picked up a pair of the yellow handle ones at a garage sale this past weekend for $2 with original tips, but mine are Craftsman. That is good to know, I was wondering who really made them. I thought it was strange that a Cman tool would have yellow handles. I'll post pics if I can ever...

    Whats This Craftsman Vise Worth?

If that is a current model, it looks like they are stepping up the quality a bit from the things that were offered in the recent past. I still will only buy the old USA made versions of those vises. Those were built with precision and built to last. At $50 though that doesn't seem to be a bad...

    I want one!

When I was a residential Mason Laborer we used to use Stihl and Partner cutoff saws with large wood cutting carbide blades to cut up lumber for forming footings. No power, to generator, no problem, but dangerous as hell.

    Craftsman Long Time China

What really got me checking coo back then was a buddy of mine would always say "It's just another nail in the coffin" when he would see typically American made products switch to off shore manufacturing. It made a real impression on me. NAFTA sure did wonders for us, didn't it?:lol_hitti

    I hate socket organizers.

I believe that to be a valve adjustment tool.

    Craftsman Long Time China

I've been a long time box turner and back in 95 I remember seeing the Craftsman Professional mini pliers set being made in China. I knew it was all over then. Sears brand combo wrenches were China as well, though they were not Craftsman, but the Professional line. I knew then how the future was...

    Sheetmetal (Tin) snips 101

I found a set of these at the Estate sale of an old time Tin Knocker for something like $5. Got them home and found that they would not cut very well due to the far left cutting edge being dulled. Not on the center blade, but the side that reads Pexto in your picture. I was wondering if there is...

    Craftsman Long Pattern, Full Polish

Just picked up two full Craftsman Professional USA sets SAE/Metric near Ann Arbor at a Garage sale. Man are these things nice. Never thought I would be able to afford a full polish wrench set, but a $20 a set I couldn't say no. Patients definitely pays off. Now if I could just find some SO for...

Drank some SO hard handle Kool-Aid finally...

Might just be me, but I like the racing logo. I haven't seen them before, but they are sweet. I also love old race cars so that could have something to do with it.

how to remove broken snap ring?

OUCH! Another one bites the dust. Oh well, as Jesse James once said, "all the others just went up in value.". Doesn't matter to me. Mine will never be for sale. Every time I use it my Dad will be right there with me. He bought his in 1955 when he was just 16 years old. My son is a computer ****...

how to remove broken snap ring?

I stabbed myself too during this procedure. I forgot until you posted that. Hang in there, once you get that clip rotated enough that you can get a bite on it with some pliers she will pull right out. It is such a small gauge that it won't put up much of a fight at that that point. It probably...

how to remove broken snap ring?

Looks like kit #44783 contains the right snap ring. I just couldn't use the gear as it is quick release and mine isn't. Not a big deal. I just checked and my 1/4# V has no serial number. I'm sure if I just keep checking ebay a more correct kit will pop up.

    Fixing an Estwing Hammer?

Hope this helps. For the leather pieces try some of the knife making suppliers online, as this is pretty much the same process. You might just find the correct leather shape already stamped out, just needing to be shaped once installed. Also look at Tandy leather supply online. They will...

how to remove broken snap ring?

Wow, this just happened to me a week ago with my 1/4" V. I was taking mine apart just to lube it. It is in very good condition, so I think it is a design flaw. The square stock is too small for the bends to have pressure applied to them for the removal process. They both just broke off with...

    how did i do?

I recently inherited the same box as you, but under sad circumstances. My Dad died of cancer. I always loved that box, but didn't want to get it the way I did. He was definitely a one of a kind genuine good man. He bought it new, so I am the second owner. These are very good, well built boxes...
