Have You Broken Any Tekton Tools?

Broke their 18" 3/8 drive ratchet the first time I used it. I was using it to break free a spark plug torqued to 420 in-lbs so it should have been well within the capabilities of the ratchet. I think it must have been a mfg defect in the gear or the pawl because it spun so easily. They sent me a...

Torx Screwdrivers - PB Swiss or Snap On

I have not owned any torx drivers by either company, but from my experience with PB and SO slotted and phillips head drivers, I would get the PB Swiss without hesitation. As others have noted, Wiha is also a good buy, but if you have your heart set on either PB or SO, I would go PB Swiss all day...

Knipex vs Icon snap ring pliers

Good thoughts doug. I was actually looking into getting the ICON set for my work tool box. But your info makes me think ill look elsewhere. What are yalls thoughts on the Wiha snap ring pliers? They look like quality pliers, but im curious what people who have used them have to say.

    New Tekton cabinet options

Not sure what you mean but here is a pic. I drilled a hole in the USG side box and used a pre-existing hole in the Tekton to bolt the two together.

    LTT Ratcheting Screwdriver

It looks like a nice driver. But not PB Swiss or Snap-On-price-range-nice. I like the bit storage. I hate that he went with the Tri-lobe design but that is becuase I hate all tri-lobe drivers. I think there is a good chance he will be successful despite what anybody here on GJ may think. Not...

Anyone know what might cause Evaporust to make tools rainbow colored?

I have had it leave a brownish coating, but never that multi-colored. Normally I swear by the stuff. Any chemists in the chat who'd like to weigh in?

    Biggest 1/4in drive socket?

Sorry for the confusion at first! Yeah, I see no need for a 15mm or 5/8 1/4" drive unless you run into a very unique restricted-access situation, which for most casual DIY stuff should be extremely rare.

    Biggest 1/4in drive socket?

Ah my mistake! I misunderstood your post. You are asking if you should get the 15mm 1/4 drive and the elusive 5/8" 1/4 drive, right? Nah, I wouldn't bother if you already have a 3/8 set to cover those sizes.

    Biggest 1/4in drive socket?

I have no input on when a socket size should be a 3/8" drive, I will leave that to the engineers to answer. But I can tell you that if you plan on doing any suspension, hub/axle, or brake work it would behoove you to purchase a 3/8" set as well. you will need the 17, 18, 19, 21 for various...
