Complete set of the RHFT long handles

I was referring to the smooth beam satin finish one I pic'd as compared to the raised panel satin finish version. While I have other polished NAPA ratchets with that shaped grip handle you attached, can't recall seeing one with a RHFT head, gotta add that to the wishlist now.

Complete set of the RHFT long handles

Cool! I wonder if there's a smooth beam variation of the long NAPA ratchet like there is for the K-D. I picked up a triple play of regular length NAPA's recently with smooth beams to go along with the raised panel ones. Only long handle I have is the Ridgid, and both flex Craftys.

Cool!! Haven't used an indexing bb, and never seen one pulled apart.

Ratchet Rebuild Parts unknown 1/2" stud

Of the many hundreds of USA ratchets I've pulled apart to cleanup and refresh, i cannot recall ever seeing a drive gear diameter-to-stud size ratio that small (or hollow). Will have to ponder a little more, but that one is a complete mystery...

Let's see your Billings and Spencer goodies

Well that explains a lot - Crescent Tool (of the eponymous adjustable wrench) evolved into (actually purchased and renamed) Crescent Niagara in 1960 (and patented their round head ratchet in 1961) in turn acquired Billings & Spencer in 1962, which would explain how a Billings & Spencer Trademark...

Let's see your Billings and Spencer goodies

I also finally (mostly) filled out a set of Billings combo wrenches - been trying to find sizes over 3/4" for years within my "cheap @ss" price range because I really like the subtle beam slimming from open down to box. Finally stumbled on some at Rough & Tumble last summer, ever so slightly...

Let's see your Billings and Spencer goodies

Need to do a deep dive on Billings and Crescent history too, would like to know why Life-time is showing up on a clearly Crescent patented ratchet - not branded Billings with Crescent logo instead.

Let's see your Billings and Spencer goodies

Well here's what I have so far for Billings branded ratchets, the three 1/4" ones are recent grabs after literally years of looking. Have a 1/2" set of sockets and ext + box but not readily available for a pic.

    Gatorbuilt Tool boxes

For the 55" model, website says the top full width drawer is 5" deep, is that actual inside (useable) depth or overall? I'm looking for a min 4.5" inside depth with the lift-latch lock (on outside of drawer). Also, any idea if drawers can be swapped around/out? Wondering if two 2.5" drawers...

Proto Velocity Tool Cabinets - Any Info?

Resurrecting this thread for a ?? or few on the Velocity 55". What are the drawer depths, especially the top full length? Need 4.5" min for that one and can't find any descriptive info anywhere with drawer depths. Also depth of the shallow drawers, and are the drawers full extension? How's it...

    Need help with ratchet identification

I've got standard and quick release versions stamped USA (for a few different brands) - it's much easier to find that ratchet design without a COO or not USA. I've long wondered if these might be the ratchets that got Stanley in trouble with the FTC, or if gradual production evolution saw their...

    The Ratchet Collection Thread

Well since my handle's been invoked (like saying "Beetlejuice" three times...) I'll weigh in with a few thoughts in no particular order: - https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/mechanics-tool-forge-company.278029/ is the thread I posited the thought (with pics) that Wright may have made...

    McKaig-Hatch

OP's pic isn't showing up, but my guess is it may have looked something like this - scored this 5pc dbl box set at a tractor show in Ottawa KS last year. Couldn't resist for $10.

My Small But Growing 1/4" drive Socket Set Collection

Well according to my self-diagnosed OCD I'm ALWAYS missing some... :willy_nil:willy_nil:willy_nil. Fortunately (for my wallet) I'm also a cheap @ss, so I tend to miss more than I pick up.

My Small But Growing 1/4" drive Socket Set Collection

No, I did not realize that, I'll keep them in mind for the future, still need New Brit, Crafts, and Husky versions. I'm knockin' right along, FINALLY pulled out the 1/4" ratchets after my move 3+ years ago and laid most of them out in a map cabinet drawer - still have around 40 +/- more that...

My Small But Growing 1/4" drive Socket Set Collection

I don't normally go after sets since I'll just yank the ratchet out and misplace the rest in the garage, but I couldn't resist this None Better "set". I didn't have a 1/4" version of the early NB Costello ratchet in the obsess... er, collection because more often than not they're missing the...

Is this really the best Craftsman ratchet?

I think I'll disagree slightly with that - while I think you're spot-on about rediculous collector-driven pricing for the Premiums, I know the 1/2" RHFT flex-head blows the snot out with lunacy-driven prices, and the 3/8" speedratchet ebbs and flows but is normally pretty nuts as well. While I...

Is this really the best Craftsman ratchet?

Moore Drop Forge, the actual manufacturers of the original pear head Craftsman ratchets and original patent holder for the RHFTs. They were acquired by Easco because they had the Craftsman contracts.
