How to make "stiff" needle nose pliers smooth again?

Agree with the posting about standing them upright in a container to soak, leave them for a week, even kerosene will creep in , then mix some oil in with it and as posted work them. I'm presently try to unlock a pair of outside calipers this way.

Best "Cheap tool" you have ever purchased...

I suppose this is a tool: My Poulan 56cc chainsaw bought new in 88 and used every spring to cut 12-15 face cords of firewood. it has never been apart, starts on second pull after sitting all winter. Still has the original pull cord, just last year i had to change the two little fuel lines due...

1870s Brown & Sharpe Engine lathe

JMO , i personally wouldn't buy it, it would be babbit bearing, (Not that that is always a bad thing,) but the RPM limits of it won't be too high for turning smaller work. Agreed, it's too bad the owner dismantled the project then gave up on it.

    South Bend Lathe - 9"

As has been posted many times lathe and mill prices vary much by location. The South Bend Model "A" in decent shape with about 30 inches between centers, and some tooling usually goes for well above 1 Thousand.

Old drill press ?? looks homemade

When looking at the pic i too wondered about the rack, it could have came from another piece of equipment, as i saw an old washing machine years back that had a similar rack in the transmission, but it was square, not round. But it sure does look like a drill press spindle/rack.

Old drill press ?? looks homemade

Yes a lot of Scroll saws back then were also built using pipe frames. Couple of years ago i picked up a very nice 14 inch bandsaw, frame all built out of large pipe, an exceptional build, with some of the nicest braze welding on the joints i have ever seen. All steel, the builder spent a lot of...
