Walk away from it and get a mental break. Maybe it's time to go look for your pocket knife at the site? Hopefully that can clear your head and you can get back into it. Our own worst enemy is our own head. Regroup, eat, hydrate, and then try again. Good luck!

Happy soon-to-be 4th of July Strouty! Hopefully your 4th is relaxing and you can enjoy the holiday...even if that means working on your own stuff. Hopefully the only fireworks are of the pyrotechnic kind and not the family kind!

Great progress Strouty! And a little extra cash from those efforts doesn't hurt either!

I used to have that opinion about coffee as well, but the pods for a Keurig coffee brewing have some pretty good flavors, especially once the coffee creamer is added. That said, black coffee is still a hard no for me, especially Starbucks! Regardless, hopefully you're fueled up and have a...

ColorNote on my phone is where I keep my lists of stuff. One list is basically for anything I need to buy soon at stores. Then I have a separate list for each major project where I list what was spent, and daily progress. For the project ones, I try to list out the next 2-3 steps necessary in...

If you're going to go that route with the forklift, perhaps it's best if you don't say anything until a suitable replacement has been found and purchased? Maybe you can find something so similar you can just bait and switch? From what you've talked about with your dad, I agree with your thought...

This might actually turn out to be for the best... I'm assuming the electrician will have the invoice, and show payment received from him. Hard to argue with that! Nov 1st... Hopefully you're not cutting off your nose in spite of yourself! I guess we'll get to see some heavy/big stuff moved...

Since this "new" parts washer doesn't really have any benefits for you, and you need another project like a hole in the head, would it be better to just do a quick cleanup and function test, and then re-list it for sale and move it on down the road? I design and build sheetmetal stuff for both...

The 3500 truck actually looks pretty good! It might just be good enough to just run it for a while and use it as a disposable truck while you work on more important projects. With all the Lista cabinets, and other cabinets, what the heck do you plan to put in all of them? Just curious. Nice...

Focus on the vehicles outside first.... I think this needs to be about damage control first to buy you as much time as possible. They see it as a junkyard, so focus on that aspect first. The conex, as long as the doors are closed, is likely not a problem compared to the vehicles. Are you...

I have ordered stuff on Alibaba, basically the same company as Ali express, and both shipments worked just fine for me. It usually takes a few weeks, sometimes longer. Clearing customs out of China does take some time. I actually supervise people in China, and was just over there 2 weeks...

Are you absolutely sure the floats are good? Puddling of fuel is a prime indicator of a float/needle/seat issue.

What did you set the mixture needles to? A good starting point is 1 to 1.5 turns out. The mechanical fuel pump is on the engine? An easier way to troubleshoot is to hook up a 3-5psi electric pulse pump. That usually gives enough pressure to make sure the needle & seat don't stick inside the...

Pay close attention to the float level setting. Set correctly, and things work well. If it gets tweaked and off, it's a huge headache..... flooding the carb or starving of fuel, only fix is pulling the carb back off to access the bowl to set. I think you'll be in a good position with the carb...

On the carburetor, since it is off, just opening up the bowl, clean out the gunk, blow out the jets, and call it good? That seems like it would be time well spent. Allocate 1 hour a quicky clean job and pop it back on. Otherwise, if you just put it back on, it may not run at all if that gunk...

Eh, just be glad you had some equipment ready to go, and that it came back on fairly quickly. You'd really be in a pickle if it didn't come back on until Wednesday. We had some rain/ice/snow yesterday, and people north of us lost power. Fortunately, we did not lose power.

Can you go to a hard rubber/plastic wheel? https://www.accesscasters.com/handtruck-wheels.aspx I've ordered wheels from Access Casters, and they're quick and good quality wheels of the ones I have gotten. Here's the one I've personally gotten a lot of...

Sounds like you're making some progress forward... both on cleaning, and moving a project forward. I wonder if you just made an effort to line up the outside vehicles/equipment, that usually goes a long ways to improving things without actually removing said items. That may go a ways...
