    Specialized torque wrench needed

Does the car have the PCCB option? If so, you'll need the adapter since the PCCB rotors do not have any center hub to prevent damage to the threads. Also the 550nm is a joke, we put all the cars at 600nm. One of the other techs has a collapsible 3/4" wrench but I use a 48" split beam. I bought...

    Gates belt tension gauges

When in doubt there is a spec pertaining to your vehicle. usually the procedure involves running a straight edge on two pulleys and using a dial indicator (cough, ruler, cough) to measure deflection.

Snap On warranty for tools no longer made

It's funny you ask this, I just broke an 11/16 B/S Snap on socket a couple weeks ago. Gave it to my Snap on guy and was told they will try to locate a NOS item in a warehouse. If that does not happen they will reimburse me the MSRP and my truck guy is willing to take back the whole set. My...

That Hougen unit is great. The shop has one but I got a super deal on a 28V Cordless Metabo unit from our tool supplier and haven't touched the Hougen. You won't be disappointed just make sure to not skimp on cutter quality.

Appropriate Hammer for Working On Car Suspension

This thread is absolute hilarity. Seriously, All these specific hammer suggestions....come on guys. I am a 30$ an hour Porsche master tech and you know what hammer I use for "suspension" work? A 16 oz. ball peen and, in occasions when load is needed, a 36" pry bar. It is has nothing to do...

Let's talk hand held metal circular saw

Im with him, the plasma is a special use at this point. If the Tennsmith can't handle it, out comes the Fein and all is good. Honestly, very worthwhile investment. I tried one about 5 years ago and just like others have said, the chips would KILL the motor. These newer saws are designed to...

How many electric grinders and are they the same manufacturer?

3 - 4" Bosch 2 - 4.5" Dewalt 1 - 5" Metabo 1 - 6" Dewalt By far the Dewalts have lasted the longest with the Metabo in second. I love the feel of the Bosch but longevity is low. If they would have used a more bulletproof motor all would be fine. Maybe I can transplant the guts of my Dewalt...

can someone help explain what I'm looking at - Scanner Question

Agree with above, and Im not usually one to jump the in on this. First you need to understand how an o2 sensor functions. Your talking about narrowband sensors that the "youtube mechanics" are showing you. they only have three steps in there correction, stochiometric, lean, rich. what your...

I fired my Snap On CT8850 Monster Lithium 1/2" impact.

All those cordless nonsense tools is only useful for taking lug nuts off and running them back on for final torque in a SHOP environment...other then that and a few suspension pieces that you can fit the overtly large and heavy tool into. Ill keep my air tools and keep my Milwaukee on the bench...

    Hantek DSO3064

The cables that come with the scope are par for the price of the scope. I bought a good set of clamps when I bought my Rigold bench scope and found that they can be the difference between questioning a waveform, and being certain. I prefer to probe whenever possible but in some load scenarios...

    Hantek DSO3064

The link you sent is to a Hantek CLONE. This is why you are not able to update software directly from Hantek. Overseas ebay sellers do this with all high end dignostic/tuning equipment. The product is likely 100% made in the same factory but the serial number for the device is a CLONE of one...

    Downgrading box through snapon ?

Sounds like your snappy guy doesn't WANT to do it. I have seen it done when one of the guys downgraded from his KRL that he still owed on, and got a KRSC cart and a road chest. All they did was transfer his balance over to the new boxes and didn't charge him any extra. Sounds like someone...
