    Garage Door Questions

My current garage door is a rolling, to the side, door made of many 2x4s and OSB and is a heavy MF and hard to move. I currently have a possibility of getting a used roll up garage door for my garage for very little. It is slightly damaged but easily repaired and a significant upgrade from my...

    Vintage Floor Jack ID Requested

Hi all, Looking to get an identification of this old/vintage/antique Floor Jack and perhaps an idea if it is of any value if it turns out to be in good working condition. Once ID'd I would imagine the next question would be parts availability in case a servicing is in order. Thank you

    Pentair pool pump replacement

While recently looking for a different kind of motor I came across a company in AZ that rebuilds pool motors/pumps too. I would imagine there is someone in Miami eho can do them too.

Buying mountain property, questions to ask?

I agree with the above. But there is a heat source in those particular mountains that generate hot springs in the area - at least 4 that I know of. Where I was it was roughly 140 degrees at the surface. I lived and worked for a brief while, in the 90s, in the mountains above Buena Vista, about...

    Fence Repair Situation & Questions

I’m going to try removing the old posts since it seems fairly simple, I have the tools (jacks etc.) for it and it seems least strenuous – at the moment. I try one and see. Oh, I thought it might be something more technical than that. Thanks If I have to dig new holes I’ll keep this in mind...

    Fence Repair Situation & Questions

I had a feeling I might have to dig new holes, but why offset about 2-4 feet vs. within a foot or so? If they outlast me I won’t be here to know it. Thanks for the CCA info. You’re probably right about the aggravation. I can dig the holes fairly easily now that I’ve been doing my digging...

    Fence Repair Situation & Questions

I need some input on a repair job I need to get started on – hopefully soon and hopefully not too expensively. Apology in advance for the length of this post – I’m trying to cover as much of the situation as possible. Background: My garage was built by the previous owner of the property who was...

    Differences in White Lithium Grease

I can't offer any info on any difference in the product(s). However, the price difference MAY have something to do with the market demand for Lithium, which has been going up.

Jeffrey Beck vs. HF Tools USA

Add some Stevie Ray Vaughn to those guys and you get - "Pride and Joy and Harbor Freight". "Yeah I love my ratchet, she's long and lean You mess with Harbor Freight, you'll see a man get mean" :rocker:

What I have learned to date on GarageJournal

No matter what brand of tools you buy someone will love it, someone will hate it (and tell you why, and many really won't care one way or another. If/when you get a great deal on tools DO NOT . . . EVER . . . ask if you ****. The tools you have now just barely fit in your 1) tool box, 2)...

    Penetrating oil test

I used to use Liquid Wrench a lot (in the old rectangular cans) then it seemed to have changed - I may have also heard something about that here. I eventually went to PB Blaster which works good for me. Whatever I use I try to give it a day to do its thing.
