Craftsman model 100 13.5 inch 103.21761 benchtop sourcing parts and pinion assembly

I get bearings through Motion and get SKF or NSK bearings. I get C-0 bearings but will put C-3 bearings in the pulley if they are less expensive next time. I also put sealed bearings throughout. Not sure about the leather part, but cam lock cap gaskets are a good option for the spindle bumper...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

Friend gave me this recently. Missing the drawer lock bars and key. Does anyone have a pic of the locking bar tabs that hold the drawer? Figure I’ll need to make the locking bars. I’ve made dividers for the drawers and plan on having this in my pickup bed to hold all the tools, fuses, and other...

    Craftsman tool chest parts needed/question

Obtained a Craftsman top tool chest. It is missing the locking bars and key. No tags on the box. Looked some but couldn’t locate any. Does anyone know where one could get the locking bars? Or does anyone have pictures of them, as I could fab something up? Also need a key. Are these generic or...

Someone tell me to be brave.

Or do a test run if you have a component to do one on to verify the machines accuracy. As mentioned, underbore and hone on the actual piece.

Went on my first estate sale haul and failed badly

Similar but different experience at an auction I went to about 5 years ago. Been looking for Delta Unisaw for some time as my tilting table saw which I got from my dad is showing its age. Took $600 with me to bid on the saw. Before they got to the saw, there were several other tools I wanted to...

    1941 Craftsman tool catalog?

If I was into this era Craftsman drill presses, I would buy it just for the catalog. Hard to tell if it’s a complete catalog or just the cover. In South Bend IN marketplace.

Craftsman Drill Press Information Belts, Bearings, Chucks, Keys, etc…1946-1984

Finally finished my rebuild that I started over a year ago. Somehow life gets in the way of hobbies. I’ll be posting this in the classifieds once the new belts are delivered .

Craftsman Drill Press Information Belts, Bearings, Chucks, Keys, etc…1946-1984

A little self promotion if it is ok. I listed these in the for sale thread. I started making light kits for the Craftsman 80, 100 and 150 drills. No need to drill any holes, just set it in the head and a magnet keeps it secure. You just need to wire it up. Socket is porcelain and backboard is...

Craftsman 80, 100, 150 Drill press light kit

Having rebuilt these vintage drill presses, I designed this light fixture that simply sets in the drill head and is held in place with a strong magnet. No drilling holes in your vintage drill. Porcelain socket and fiberglass board. Simply add your wire to the motor switch or, my preference, add...

    Bearing Help

I put C-0 fit bearings in when I rebuild these and also double seal (greased for life vs shield where oil can be added). C-0 is probably more important for the spindle than the pulley. C-0 have tighter clearances than C-3 bearings, thus less potential runout. I get mine through Motion. Maybe a...

Show us your cool, "old" drill press

This was my uncle’s drill. I obtained it about 45 years ago. No marking of any brand on it. Although I have updated to a Craftsman 150, I still use this drill quite a bit. It has a Morse taper “chuck”. I still have the original motor in which the butterfly type centrifugal weights broke. I went...

    Craftsman Drill Press Info Needed

Older thread but now I know what the smaller drill presses were with the Crown logo similar to the 150 Crown. Seen a few and was wondering what they were.

Craftsman Drill Press Information Belts, Bearings, Chucks, Keys, etc…1946-1984

Was in Auto Zone today and saw this Rustoleum wheel rim paint, graphite. The cap sure seemed close to the 150 color, not having an actual piece to compare it to. May need to take a part in with me next time to see how close it the cap actually is to the 150.

Craftsman Drill Press Information Belts, Bearings, Chucks, Keys, etc…1946-1984

My one 150 has a decal on the center of the quill handle. Figured a previous owner put it there. Can’t read anything on it and never thought anything about it. Then I saw this on a 150 posted on Marketplace. Does anyone know what it says and are there reproductions available?

    Dust Collection

Just finished building a dust collector from items I had setting around. Works real good on my 12“ planer, 42” belt sander and Craftsman lathe. Still need to make an adapter for the table saw. Has a 20’ 4” hose. Very little carryover into the filter box. Not the prettiest collector but works well.

    Craftsman 150 drill press questions

You can get oil cups that have a 90 degree bend so you could utilize them on a vertical motor. Agree with the comment on find a ball bearing motor, if not now, down the road.

Craftsman flat top block grinder: which bearing C code?

The C3 became popular with the smaller 3600 rpm motors that ran hotter. Then it seems they were in everything. For a grinder I do not believe that a C0 would make any difference. You can get either for about the same price. I’m a C0 fan and think they would work fine for the duty cycles of a...

Craftsman Drill Press Information Belts, Bearings, Chucks, Keys, etc…1946-1984

Posted this on another thread a week or so ago. McMaster Car 4061T246 and 5345K72 for the rubber parts. As previously mentioned on this site, the 5345 item is 1” a Cam lock gasket. The 4061 are square o-rings. Might be a bit thicker but shouldn’t affect anything. Verify the diameters for your...
