HF Manual Tire Changer - use for TPMS replacements?

Some years ago I fabbed a large C-clamp with 1” all thread and welded nut so I could run it up with air gun. Large pads,no tire damage. TIG welding of Steel is Stupid

I learned to weld in the middle fifties. Learned to stick weld aluminum in the early sixties. Still welding when the need arises. Have all the machines, stick, mig, tig, spool gun, and etc. Tig, to me, is tedious and expensive. I have a little vibrating stick rod holder that you attach to your...

Cutting a full size Sledge to make a drilling hammer

There was a guy, in the small town where I grew up, that would set a 12 lb. sledge by his right foot, handle came up to just above his knee. He would grasp the end of handle with right hand, swing sledge up, touch his nose with sledge, then slowly lower sledge to floor. He worked on the...

    Cistern

Lots of railroad tankers buried around here for fire fighting water. Don't know what they’re going for now. I bought one in the eighties for scrap price. Think it was 4-5 cents a pound and weighed around 15,000 lbs. 20 -22 thousand gallons. Had some kind of liner in it if I remember correctly

    Solvent Remove Thick Automotive Grease

I buy 5 gallons parts washer solvent at AG store and use an air powered siphon gun. You can buy acetone in gallon can, but it’s expensive. Or course gasoline is the best cleaner with a siphon gun, but can’t suggest that here.

What psi rating for water supply line?

The house we’ve lived in for forty years, has always had 110-125 psi water pressure. No problems. All copper construction, 65 years old. I do have a pressure regulator on our stand alone 175 lb/day ice maker. The whole town ( now over 100,00) has that pressure. No one complains, most don’t...

Very easy to fabricate. Made mine 30+ years ago. Steel wheels, 3” ,2 1/2”, 2” pipe, and a little angle. I used a couple of 16” pickup wheels I had laying around. You can make a variety of attachments to slide in top for bottle jacks, hooks, scaffolding, and etc. I torch cut the adjustment...

Enlarge 5,000 gallon water tank plumbing?

I might add that a gauge line has about a 2 lb brass weight on it. Obviously, you need some kind of weight on whatever line used.

Enlarge 5,000 gallon water tank plumbing?

We use to change out valves on oilfield tanks full of fluid. The more fluid, the better. The valves were usually 3” or 4” gate valves. Wrapped a ball of rags tightly with good string and attached to a gauge line ( which is just a measuring tape to check tank level). Make rag ball about twice the...

    Metal rust

Looks like rust jacking to me. Not necessarily water freezing, but definitely water intrusion on bare metal. Rust jacking is an amazingly powerful force
