    Inventory management?

My tools etc are generally organised pretty well, I have tubs for all my bolts etc, I also have plenty of shelving. It's mainly car projects that I am having trouble with organising. I have bits everywhere. Over time I forget what I have or where it is located. I have put things in crates...

    CP Impact wrench repair?

Hi all, I bought an old Chicago Pneumatic Impact wrench, it was sold as not working so I basically got it for nothing. I put a air fitting on it and plugged the hose in and all I get is a huge air leak coming from the exhaust (Trigger area) The shaft does not turn but it is free and not...

Bench grinder stand for multiple grinders?

Thanks for the replies, I took the wheels off the grinder and the vibration went away. It's so bad with the wheels on, if I have something resting on the tool rest I cant keep it still it shakes so much. Do you think it is the wheels? I still have a feeling it might have something to do with...

Bench grinder stand for multiple grinders?

Hey all, I'm trying to setup my bench grinder properly as at the moment it is on a flimsy stand and it vibrates quite badly. I think the reason it does this is because it is made from 2mm steel angle. So i'm thinking of making a new stand for it, I have other grinders as well, one is setup...

    Build a simple sandblaster

I stuck a large funnel on mine and used the gun upside down so it was gravity feed not suction feed. Seemed to work better than the hose in the bucket method.

    Rag storage?

Hey all, Just wondering how you are all storing your rags? At the moment I have a box on the floor that has a lid on it, it's annoying because it takes up floor space and i've got a bad habbit of storing things ontop of it. So when I need a rag I need to move what ever is ontop. Not very...

    Quality ratchet of this style?

Hey all, I bought some ratchets similar to these a awhile ago. Here we call them swivel head ratchets. The handles on them slipped pretty much the first time I used them. So what I did was pulled the handle off and put some Loctite 262 Stud lock on them, left it for a few days before using...

I noticed more places downsizing on Makita & Bosch

The last Makita tool I bought which is a reciproating saw says Made in China on it, it made me a little sad when I saw it. It still is a great saw though and haven't had any issues so far, but it seems a bit cheaper compared to my other Japan/US made Makita tools. Time will tell I guess.

Compressor in roof space questions (remote location)

It's a 3hp compressor with 50L tank, pump is 16cfm. I always heard black pipe would rust and gal pipe should be used?

Compressor in roof space questions (remote location)

Thanks all, If I use bigger pipe won't the compressor take a long time to pump up? I was thinking 3/4" gal pipe for the long straight lines and using copper for the bends etc. Obviously I want to do it right the first time, so if I need bigger pipe then that is fine too. Also am I going to...

Compressor in roof space questions (remote location)

Thanks, I have an auto drain valve, but it's sorta annoying when it goes off, is there a way to make it quiet? I could probably fit a ball valve and use a string to open it up, I'd have to setup a spring to close the ball valve once I let go of the string though. I have a fair bit of space...

Compressor in roof space questions (remote location)

Hey all, I have been considering putting the compressor up in the roof space to so I can gain some more space on the floor and hopefully reduce the noise level. I just have a few questions. The compressor has a regulator with a built in water trap mounted to it, the trap seems to pickup a lot...

    Filling Concrete expansion/contraction joints

not at the moment, was thinking later on about painting it or tiling but not 100% sure yet. Will it cause issues later on if I did want to paint it?

    Filling Concrete expansion/contraction joints

Hi, In the garage I have these joins that run from one end of the slab to the other. they are nearly 10mm wide and as such a lot of dirt/dust etc collects in there. It also makes it hard to sweep up as everything just end up in the joins and I need to get down there with a small broom/dustpan...

Let's see your home made blast cabinets

How good are the TP tools blast cabinets, do they work well, are they comparable to the HF cabinets? Are the plans decent and easy to follow? Do most of yous just buy the $9.95 plans and source your own gun, glove etc? Thanks
