    Festool tools

The domino is the bee's knees for casework. So fast and easy to bang something together that is strong and fits together nicely. Like any other tool we talk about on here, sometimes factors other than cost are part of the equation.

Fold up / compact assembly table ? Need ideas

Look up a Paulk workbench. You can drill it to work in a similar way as an MFT if you want. It's a DIY affair but that means you can make it any size you like too.

    Blown in insulation DIY

Make sure you don't do this solo... if you can have 2 helpers, that would be ideal. The machine needs constant feeding. Feeding the machine isn't that easy as you need to kind of break up the compacted insulation to fit through the grate. The 2nd helper takes some of the load off the feeder so...

    Blisters in topcoat - solutions?

So an update... contractor came out and indicated their plan is to squirt some xylene on the blisters and allow them to self-level. I wasn't there to see what the root cause was, but I believe it was too thick. Temps were cool, garage is north-facing so no sunlight but it was very humid. This...

    Blisters in topcoat - solutions?

So I'm looking for knowledgable opinions on how to resolve the issue of many, many blisters (for lack of a better term) in a polyurea top coat. The coating also contains areas with LOTS of trapped bubbles. The floor was diamabrushed, primered, epoxy base + full broadcast chip then polyurea top...

    Zoro Deals Thread

Wish I could say the same. It's been written here before, but man, sometimes the shipping dept. just let's stuff out the door that should be packed better. I have some bent piano hinges to figure out.

    Torque Screwdriver

Check a bike shop. A lot of carbon parts spec low torque ratings so guys don't internally damage the carbon part without realizing it.

    Zoro Deals Thread

In Texas you are charged tax with Zoro. However, the last couple orders with Zoro were delivered by Next Day Dynamix, so that's hard to beat even with Amazon Prime.

Bicycle Tools - What's it take?

You'll probably want to get a chain breaker, chain whip and a cassette socket. At 20yrs, the chain and cog set are probably shot. While you can get new chains that do not need a master link pressed in, you'll likely have to break the old one and shorten the new one with the chain breaker. To...

    precise portable table saw

Look into making a Paulk bench. I have a Bosch 4100, Rousseau table and a big Paulk bench for outfeed. Overall, once you dial-in the Rousseau table, it's pretty good. One thing to look out for on the joist saws is the max dado blade size, some are a little lacking. I would also recommend the...

What to use to cut metal wire shelving

I wouldn't recommend doing this... it seems completely logical, but it makes it a REAL hassle to deal with getting the standards on the rail if it's too close to the ceiling. You also waste a lot of length on the standards because you need to tilt each shelf bracket up to get them into the slots...

What to use to cut metal wire shelving

For the header rail, don't bother using their holes. Last time I did this, nothing lined up. the holes didn't seem drilled for North America. I just hung them where I wanted and drilled through the hang rail into the stud.

I have a Bosch GLM80 that works quite well. It has a lot of good, useful features. The battery lasts seemingly forever.

    Miter Saw Stand!

I like that. I built a Paulk workbench for the table saw in a similar vein.

    What drill do I need?

I see the CL posts here in Dallas for what Fugio is talking about. $1000 for a pallet of returned HD tools. Probably doesn't take too many sales @ $100 to pay off. That being said, if you're in DFW, might want to take a ride down to the Milwaukee service center by Love Field. They oftentimes...

    Home Depot Clearance Thread 2015

I see someone on CL selling the pallets of HD returns here in Dallas all the time. $1000 for a pallet of questionable power tools.
