Another , Who Made This ?

I just picked up a 10" adjustable wrench .On the front face M. Klein & Sons on the back face 500-10--CHICAGO--U.S.A.. Since it's not a pair of linesman pliers, I rather doubt that Klein made it. It is quality . It's froze solid now but I'm sure it will loosen up.

    Floppy Head

Years back, when on a trip, the minivan idler started to squeal, so I changed it in the auto parts parking. Not having any tools with me, I bought a 3/8 Wright flex head ratchet and socket . When Blackhawk got sold, the local tool store chain got the stock and clearanced it for peanuts. I picked...

    Another Victim

OK, you guys, you got another victim. I was going to fill in my 1/4" SAE sockets, mishmash picked from the clearance bins, instead I bought some Gearwrench. A rail of 6 points, a wobble extension and a this is really your fault, a 84 tooth flex-head. I have three small Mercury outboards from the...

    Craftsman double bar V age

I have single bar v combinations from the early '70s that I purchased new. I threw a Craftsman double bar V open end in the tray when I found a S-K 1/2 set from the late'50s at the fleamarket. The round nose , dimpled, knurled and polished chrome. I still have a grin over them. :)

    Snap-On parts ?

I picked up a tray with a 1/2" and 3/8" S-K socket sets, It came with two SO spark plug sockets and a S-K Wayne, all without the rubber protectors. I hate tossing tools that merely need a little repair parts. Is it worthwhile talking to SO ? With there being three, it looks like when the rubber...

    Tecomaster speeder

You guys come through again https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124801 So the speeder I picked up at the Fleamarket was made by Snap-on for the T. Eatons Company,( the Teco.) It has that same handle shape. I thought it might be Proto Canada by the script used on the...

    Barcalo wrench set

After using them on job, I looked them up and he suggests mid to late '50s . For the $15 I paid I felt one of the replacement wrenches was more than worth it, a 3/4" Made In Canada Proto. I knew that with the set, like a lot of wrenches of that era, the steel would be very good, but the finish...

Who makes the best 3/8 drive sockets for cars

Before the knee jerk answer, hear me out. The cars I learned about working on were awkward, tightly spaced, and patience trying .Sounds pretty much like all cars now. Being an questioning independent thinker, I looked at the sockets. What I wanted was a socket that was short but broached all...

    Craftsman Ratchet

I don't know if 1970 or so rates vintage but a simple question. I have picking up Craftsman ratchets at the fleamarket , of the three oval head, button release, one is different . The oval is larger, it lacks the oiling hole and is FORGED IN USA-v- 43784 ------- PATENT PENDING----- Deep stamp...

    Good Morning from BC

Good Morning, at least I'll be 50% right. I use Downwindtracker2 as my nom de plume. The first time I booked on a forum ,it was a hunting one. Everybody used names like 300Magnum., so being a contrary sort I remembered the name that the author Paul St.Pierre used in his columns in the...
