Mitsubishi Mr. Slim Heat Pump Installation

I purchased the unit form eComfort out of the Chicago area. Shipping was free and no taxes. They seemed to be in line with the other quotes I received. In fact they were the best quote for the unit I purchased with accessories. Really looking forward to getting this installed.

Mitsubishi Mr. Slim Heat Pump Installation

Well after much waving of arms and knashing of teeth I have decided to go ahead and install a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim Heat Pump in my garage. My garage is 900 sq ft and is insulated and has insulated garage doors. I have ordered the Heat Pump along with required components. I will perform the...

Cleaning corroded electrical contacts, need a tool

Normally, you 'burnish' electrical contacts to try and restore them. Which is basically a very fine file. If they are burned too badly you will have to replace them.

I have no idea what I'm doing...Just ordered parts for a 4x8' CNC plasma table.

I could have sworn you said you did not know what you were doing. That is an awesome project and great work by someone who does not know what they are doing.

    Weller Soldering Gun

The dual heat Weller is a very good general purpose soldering gun and I have one. However, they are not good for some of the finer soldering required on PCB's. In this day you have to have several different soldering guns/irons to get by. Weller generally makes some of the best soldering irons...

Which is the best/easiest to build a work bench? Kreg, Strong Tie, "2x4 joinery"?

Re: Which is the best/easiest to build a work bench? Kreg, Strong Tie, "2x4 joinery" Best and Easiest is not a good combination. I would think about what your requirements are and what you can afford. Take a little time and do some planning. You should end up with a bench you will be happy with.

Need help with oil on concrete

Kitty Litter works well. However, it is important to take a mallet and tap on the Kitty Litter crushing it into the concrete thereby forcing the small particles into the concrete to soak up as much oil as possible. Just be sure to rub that Kitty Kitter in real good. Let the Kitty Litter stay on...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I finally finished the restoration of my Emmert Turtle Vise and found a place to mount it. The two front dogs were broken so I made new ones from brass stock. The Turtle Vise works great and will make a great addition to my garage. :3gears:

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Here are a few pictures of my progress of restoring an old Emmert TurtleBack Pattern Makers Vise. The Vise was very nasty as it set in a garage for many years. So I basically wire brushed it, ground it down and dremeled it till I got it clean. I am repalacing all the old original square hardware...

have always wondered how they sharpened

That machine is well worth the $500 if you have a need for it. I use reel mowers on my lawn. That machine will properly sharpen a reel blade. Most dealers just back lap the reels to keep them sharp, but that only works for a few sharpenings. Later you will require a proper relief cut to...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

WARNING! WARNING! My latest find. I just found these two Emmert Pattern Makers Vises. Paid $150 for each one. The Emmert TurtleBack just needs a good cleaning. The newer Emmert is in very good condition.

    Sudden low voltage

Might be a loose connection. Check your connection at any wire nuts if used. Other than that just logically walk it through till you find the discontinuity. Good Luck

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Thank You for your kind words. I just polished the parts as best I could. The only issue I had with this vise was I could not extract the nut. The pin would come out but the nut would not. So I just scrubbed around it. The vise works really nice. Swivel jaws were in very good condition. Thank...
