    Ting?

Nope, nope, nope. This sounds exactly like those things that plug into the OBD port.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Also found out--yes, I did apparently lose both my 10mms last time I used them. I know my HTD set had the 10mm when I bought it at the flea market a decade ago and my Craftsman set was missing the 11mm, not the 10mm.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Semi-retired the SK and Blackhawk (plus a fairly decent amount of vintage Proto) stuff to the main "house" box in the basement. I replaced it with all the Craftsman and Kobalt stuff I got when Lowe's decided to heavily change what they sold loose/open stock and blow out the remainder for...

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

My SOG Powerpint liked to open up when clipped to my pocket, or even loose in it . Found this design on Thingiverse that did what I wanted, but it was too stiff in PLA. Surprisingly, TPU 95 did the trick .. For me, that's the whole reason that sold me on it. On my AD5M, I had to cut the...

I bought a cheap laptop battery for my secondhand Dell Latitude 5290 2-in-1. It included a small tool set with it. T6, PH00, and a pick-type spudger. The screwdrivers were too small (I used a Wiha PH0), but actually nice quality. The spudger is sturdy, and got the back of the case off...

Knockoffs of the Leatherman Raptor. I normally don't buy knockoffs, but I was curious about the Raptor--but couldn't see dropping almost $100 on one (when they first came out, they were around $70). If I were in EMS, I'd never buy the knockoff, ever. They are fussy to lock open and the strap...

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

I'm going to do similar. Amazon's got lots of fairly cheap construction RC, but well--they ****. The less-expensive ones are not only often comically under-powered, but fragile. They tend to not use very good quality materials or electronics, and you usually can't buy parts that break. Looked...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Retrieved my "gate wrench" (a "Forged in USA" but otherwise unbranded half-inch/nine-sixteenths double box end I found in a junk ATV's toolbox) and fixed the driveway gate that had jumped the hinge when the weather was bad.

Confess: What Tool Did You Not Really Need But Bought Anyhow? (Silly Stuff Included)

Controversial opinion--I've found that aside from spark plug sockets, I've found that 1/4 can do most household/light duty stuff. I've got a very compact Kobalt 1/4 set in a hard plastic case (replaced the ratchet with an Icon, and the missing spinner handle is to be replaced with the CAT one)...

    Ideas for hard handle screwdrivers

If they're inset--I'd use the same technique I use for the little medallions (shields) that often fall out of knife handles. I usually put a tiny bit of glue (typically Gorilla brand super glue) in the recess and on the back of the shield and then press it for a few seconds.

    Kobalt Tool-Check

Just dropped mine and one of the socket holders broke completely off. Wondering if warranty will cover that, even though a couple sockets are missing.

Your Best Tool Purchase in 2025?

2025 was the year I went cordless with outdoor power equipment (still haven't chosen a chainsaw--currently torn between Husqvarna and EGO--plus DeWalt as I have the batteries). If Walmart puts a hefty clearance discount (or possibly Ollie's), I'll get the Hart chainsaw when they're ditching the...

J H Williams vintage hand tools

That ad was just what I needed. I was curious what a Williams made Kobalt ratchet (and wrench) looked like, and it's a lot different than the Danaher/Western Forge (which Cripe has had dozens of lately) or modern imported stuff. I've got a 1/4 and 3/8 on my eBay watchlist. Anyone here have a...

    Show your "Mini" Tool Box.

Finally bought what I'm pretty sure was the last OD Green one at Sam's Club in the Christmas leftovers (most were white or pink). Hoping Lowe's has some of the highlighter pink ones left over. I started on Gridfinity, and I think this is gonna be my second to get trays in each drawer...

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

I've been using TPU a lot for scale model tires, and I'm doing some RC projects next month (both of which call for printed tires). However, my results with TPU 95A have usually been garbage--whether it be on my old Flashforge Adventurer 5M or the Bambu A1. I had originally figured the issue...

    New TEKTON German Made Hammers

Definitely getting the 8 oz. as I've needed a small one for setting knife assembly pins for quite some time as I've been trying to get into repairing and modifying old pocketknives. Looks like I've got a sizeable Tekton order next month with a couple hammers, a few Witte screwdrivers, and the...

The battery went dead in my grandmother's '23 Crosstrek key fob. Dealer was out ($200 for a key...), and I don't buy coin cell batteries at auto parts stores due to ridiculous pricing. Four batteries at Lowe's were around the same price as two at Advance, Auto Zone, or O'Reilly. Bought the pry...

    Show Your Vintage Knife

Two Imperial Frontier advertising knvies for Westmoreland Coal. These two are Double Eagles. The 4135 is assembled using the Swinden method, while if I'm not mistaken--the lockback was a Camillus-made knife. These were bought off a guy in Wise County on eBay a few years back. They're...

    Show your "Mini" Tool Box.

This is where I'd recommend the Tractor Supply/Jobsmart mini box--the hipped lid makes it much deeper than the others.

    Ryobi tool fest

Not Ryobi, but I've got their half-brother--Hart. I've got the 40V Trimmer with brush cutter attachment (looking at Ryobi's rubber broom for sweeping snow vs. the snow thrower) and the 20-inch mower. Both work great. The mower made me swear off gas lawnmowers forever. Insane torque, and...
