For wrenches, what's the main difference of RBRT vs. Knucklesaver (and Proto Anti-Slip design--which are most of the wrenches I buy open-stock).

I've been thinking about getting a cordless impact gun--mostly limited to Craftsman V20 and DeWalt 20V as that's the batteries I've got. Is there any reason why I'd get a 3/8 one? All my existing stuff is 1/2.

I have some similar bits with Craftsman V-Series, but I recently lost that clip that had the hex and Torx in it. So, Mac guy it is, I guess. Honestly, that was the best $30 I spent on a screwdriver....

Montgomery Ward Powr-Kraft TPC-8941A 2-Speed Reciprocating Saw. Cost me $10 at my local Goodwill. The date code is 76U, which should put it somewhere in the middle of 1967. Needs the cord replaced and a new strain relief (plus a good cleaning, maintenance, and restoration), but it still...

Nice haul! I need to see if they make the bent pocket prybars in Power Blue--as I got the straight when the Snap-On truck just happened to be at my mechanic's when I passed by. My Macs came as a two-pack in green, but I bought my Power Blue in straight as A: it was my only non-black option...

Needed a Gamebit-type driver for my old Gameboy Advance SP, as its problems may be related to a ribbon cable (and the battery looked a little bit swollen, too--which is a surprise that it hasn't catastrophically failed in the 23 years I've had it). Got the precision set (as I had lost most of...

    Most Broken tools

I've ruined most of the T6 and T8s in my little Picquics. Knife makers go a little bit crazy on the Loctite these days, and it's a pain in the **** when I want to swap the pocket clip over to my left side.

    Most Broken tools

I have somehow managed to mangle more than a few Dollar Tree "Craft Picker" tools and Harbor Freight $1.25 pick sets doing stuff I shouldn't have done. Luckily, the carnage was limited to pocket change tools.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I wonder if Hot Wheels will be doing that one? I've picked up most of the motorcycles they've done in recent years--including the Hondas.

How are the Anti Vibe hammers?

They possibly used to be US-made at one point. I was watching an old Modern Marvels episode from the mid-late '90s, and it showed Stanley Anti-Vibe framing hammers being made in TN. So, I'd assume at some point between then and now, stuff got off-shored.

Ever get stuck with tools you thought you’d need but don’t really need and not worth reselling and maybe you’ll need them someday

I've got an entire box like that on the shelf in the basement. Some of the stuff was leftover from projects long before I was born. And yes, it has come in handy. I have a few valves that still have chunks of pipe stuck in them. I know there are tools that allow me to salvage them by boring...

    My most useless tool purchase

I have a pair of Fluke Networks Need-L-Lock pliers I bought on sale ages ago (either in-store at a Tuesday Morning or online via Woot/Amazon). I tried them once on some scrap phone line today, but otherwise--zero use.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

In the basement shop and office (where the 3D printer lives). 3D printed a few organizers, as well as a new razor stand for my main razor--which was my great-Grandpa's Gillette from the '50s. Finally got the replacement handle properly mounted (and wedged) on a Council axe I've had--while...

Looks like I'm getting a couple of them. Gramps had one that looked similar (and with the same hands) that Sears sold as Craftsman, but it broke ages ago. Even 20 years ago, the Craftsman one was way more than $5.99--want to say $20-ish.

    Busted Craftsman Ratcheting Combo Wrench

After getting the run around at Lowe's, I started just emailing Craftsman and having them handle it. They typically would just send me whatever broke (which, coincidentally, has been all SBD-era stuff aside from one 1/4 ratchet I found broken).

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Nice old box! Mine's from the Crowntop era. I'm curious, just what is the right tote for these? I have found two red ones, including one that looks quite similar to yours. The box as it was given to me by Granddad has a gray tote, but the catalogs from the same time as he received the box as...

    Driveway tool cart/carrier

I thought I was the only one who did that. I use a Kubota RTV-900, and the tailgate comes to just about the correct height for a workbench for someone of my size. I have some tools in a "Sportsman's Trunk" (which is weatherproof), but I keep a 24" hand carry box with my most-used stuff that I...

Parallel jaw pliers, what are they good for, why a niche?

A feed store near me wanted nearly $100 for the same darn things (the 200mms). I also recall they were about 50% more on the Knipex 200mm Cobolts than KC Tool (where mine came from. BUT, the 200mm Mauns had the wire cutter, so I don't know if that raises the price or not. Really need to check...

Mac, Matco and Cornwell, the OTHER tool truck brands. Post your pics!

Here's my PH2. Won't call it "vintage" by any means (that's my thread files that I need to get out). A couple years back, I had nothing better to do while the car was having a wheel bearing checked out, and the Mac guy pulls up at my relative's shop. I bought a few odds and ends (including...
