    Thanks. This one was made with a point but I have seen those screw on points you mentioned. So I take it that the puller is still quite usable but without the point its applications are limited. Is that correct?

    Is the screw point essential to the proper operation of a gear puller? The point on many older models (such as the one shown) I come across are well worn. If the puller functions fine in every other way is it still considered to be in good working condition?
