Vintage Craftsman "Kromedge" Tap and Die set

No more instruction sheet (I purchased these sets in the 1970's) I'll find the part number this evening.

Vintage Craftsman "Kromedge" Tap and Die set

These two sets have been with me since the mid-1970's. They seem to cut faster and more accurately that modern "tool truck" sets. I have several tool truck sets that were purchased within the last 10 years, but they are vastly inferior to these old C-man sets. Anyone know who made these old...

    I don't get it

That sure is right Junk. In the early 1970's I worked in a place where they cleaned the floors and equipment with Varsol twice a month. The Varsol was then cleaned off with a hot water pressure washer and it all went down the drain. No one gave a second thought to the environmental impact...

PUMA Air Compressor Mystery - HELP!

I have never seen a Puma compressor with that pump arrangement. "Blacknwhitepit"may be correct --- a Puma tank and carriage, and a generic replacement pump and motor

    Completed Finally!!!

Nice car! and great job on the garage. But being the "tool junkie" that I am, I'd like to see some more pics of that older C-Man box -- That style is classic.

    Which of these three compressors?

I've owned that Puma for close to 10 years. It's a great compressor for general wrenching, and it will even run my blast cabinet (within reason). It will run a DA sander, but falls short on high-speed air tools like grinders and angle sanders -- not that it won't run them, but only for 10...

    I hate all of you!

Yup -- what Frank said! It's all true -- BTW - have you met Merkeva_4 yet. He'll give you some pointers as to what should be done with those Klein, C-man and C-man pro tools:bounce:

Take my advise and stock some tools sets as I did.

Looks like you cornered the market on American combination wrench sets in Saudi Arabia. Those are some impressive wrench sets in your collection. BTW -- thanks for the pic. That is definitely a "clash of cultures".

A green socket set made in USA.

Thorsen was a great company -- very nice socket set you have.

    Seriously disheartened by Craftsman Quality

You guys can't convince me of this "C-man quality gone down" dribble. I've been wrenching for almost 40 years, and this same lame argument has been made most of those four decades. The fact is that every brand has/had problems (just a few examples -- snap-on had chrome problems in the 70's...

Where some of my tools spend the day and nights?

I love the fact that you have a "Grainger" catalog on your table:bounce: Thank you for sharing those pictures Autoguy. Very interesting country you live in. It is beautiful though -- the desert has a very unique beauty all its own. I once took a flight out of Saudi Arabia on Lufthansa...

Take my advise and stock some tools sets as I did.

Good planning Autoguy!!! In fact I know several colleagues that live overseas who did exactly as you. Whenever they visited the US they bought store closeouts and searched swap meets and pawn shops to find quality US tools. That was 20 years ago. Many of those same tools that were purchased...

    wife made fun of me...

Clean is good!!! Your wife sounds OK with the idea. At least she lets you have some "man time", and leaves you alone in the garage. That's always a good thing.
