Older home with 2nd gargage or add to newer home

Newer homes come with Homeowner's Associations -- and often very strict covenants. They get very "prickly" when you start moving in automotive repair tools, tool boxes, and garage equipment. Make sure you read and understand every word of that covenant:thumbup:

    Sun addiction

woahaaahaaahaaa!!! Dave, I can see that you are going to have to go through an "intervention" here real soon:bounce: Very nice score - for the price, even if they don't work -- they look cool as hell!

    Let's see your toolbox.

Nice pics! Your tools have seen some good use. That old "blue" colored US made dwell/tach dates back to the 1970's. That particular model was a staple in every "harry homeowner" tool box of the day. I believe it was made/sold by "RAC" industries and many others who relabled it under their own...

My Sunny Day.... Got a Vintage Sun Analyzer!!!

No date code on the equipment badges, but many have a paper sticker on the inside that indicates the date of manufacture. Since it's just paper tape, most tags have simply fallen off and are lying somewhere on the floor of the cabinet. The Infrared series were the last of the big analog...

My Sunny Day.... Got a Vintage Sun Analyzer!!!

The scope is definitely modular, and represents the best technology that Sun had to offer in the mid-seventies. Very good quality scope. The problem with the emission modules isn't neccessarily complexity, but rather parts availability. There are very few parts available to service the emission...

My Sunny Day.... Got a Vintage Sun Analyzer!!!

The problem with these units is that they are a "modular" solid state design and construction. The design consists of many plug-in circuit boards that are absolutley a PITA to track down nowdays. Fixing the boards yourself takes skill and specialized testing equipment -- If the transformer...

Autoguy -- are American tool manufacturers popular in Saudi Arabia, or is the market flooded with European and Asian tools?

How people buy Snap-On tools in the old days?

Why not, even more absurd is that there is an entire forum dedicated to garages of all things:bounce:

How people buy Snap-On tools in the old days?

Snap-on was not "sky-high" in the 60's and 70's when I was purchasing tools off the trucks. In fact, they would be pretty competitive on "bread and butter" products like pliers and screw drivers. Where they did charge a premium was in their "flank drive" lines such as wrenches and sockets. Those...

Huge sale on this weekend and lots of specials in the tool section. Mine was the same -- they had a midnight sale and they did generate a lot of traffic. They're restocking all day today

Lookin for a lathe for some small stainless parts...

Nice and useful light duty lathe. Perfect machine to learn the basic skills on, and to grow with. Parts are still available through various outlets (incl. ebay) and you can move the lathe yourself withoiut having to pay a rigger.

    Box vs flare

They are -- but their website is out of date. Many broken links and not very organized. It looks like it was produced by a 15 year old with ADHD :bounce: www.grancoind.com Granco Industries Inc. 4009 E. 138th St. Grandview, Mo 64030

    Box vs flare

Some flare nut wrenches are actually a bit more versitile -- these are Granco wrenches and they are excellent for removing rusted/corroded fasteners

If truck brands are made in China will you go back to C-man

For the value, ease of warranty, and fit/finish -- Craftsman Pro would win under that scenario.
