Finally scored a Dake arbor press

I have one too but it's an Atlas. Dake bought out Atlas sometime in the 50's or 60's but used the same castings and designs. Very handy to have.

    Logan 1400 Lathe

Logan made a fine lathe and they still carry parts for them if you should need any. What sort of tooling do you need?

    Craftsman Vari-Slo Question - Model 100 Drillpress

It looks like a easy part to make if you have a lathe. I would make it out of aluminium or brass if it was me. If you don't have a lathe let me know and I make you one.

is this a south bend model 34?

I think $1000 is a bit optimistic for that lathe I would hold out for something better or wait until the price drops to a more realistic number ($400-$500).

    Logan 10" Lathe

If you do decide to purchase the lathe make sure all the change gears are there for threading. It can get expensive replacing even a couple of gears. Where are you at in Michigan? I live in Brooklyn.

    Logan 10" Lathe

If its in decent shape that is a fair price for the Michigan market.

Atlas 618 Lathe - Deal or No Deal?

If you were a former Tool and Die maker you more than anyone would "understand" the short comings of an Atlas lathe. The flat bed ways, the zamack gears, doesn't make for a very rigid machine. They are however satisfactory for home shop use in most cases and great to learn on. The 618 is a...

Atlas 618 Lathe - Deal or No Deal?

For what ever reason those small Atlas lathes command more money than they are worth in my opinion. How scarce are lathes in your area? I think the price is a couple hundred too much. $250-$300 sounds more reasonable. The 618's are a pretty small lathe if it were me I would hold out for a larger...

    Craftsman lathe value

Where are you at in Mid Michigan? Although Atlas lathes are fairly common around here the one you have is really clean, I would think the value is $600 or so with out any change gears or tooling. If you have the change gears and/or tooling I would ask $750-$800. Atlas lathes don't have the...
