    It's done!!!

Here is a photo of my latest project. It's a Southbend Model 9A that I restored. I wish I had taken some before photos before I got started but didn't think of it until way after I started. Imagine a lathe that was stored at the bottom of a lake for a few years and that would sum up the...

What can you tell me about this drill press?

That's a nice machine for $150. If you have room for it go get it. Check all the castings for cracks, check for spindle run out, obvious fixes etc... I love my camel back that I have its a fun machine to use plus you can't beat the style they have. Since there will be some assembly required I...

    Craftsman Power Hacksaw

Craftsman Power Hacksaw (made by Covel). Takes the 12" blades and works really well. I may regret selling this but I don't use it that often and it's taking up space. Decent original paint. It's on a nice heavy homemade stand. $150 or trade for a nice Wilton bullet vise w/swivel base. I would...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Here is a craigslist link to a BIG Columbian 107 in Ohio. (not my ad just thought I would pass it along). http://toledo.craigslist.org/tls/4169769852.html I pondered it for a minute but I don't need a vise this big.

    Repairing drill press table

Price looks fair to me if it all works. Make a template of the table and take the template to a fabrication shop and have them cut it out of 3/8". Drill and tap the table and mount it and use it.

    Harbor Freight drill press review?

Don't do it. Buy a used "vintage" model. Or if you have to go the import route look for something made in Taiwan, it will be better quality than Made in China.

Show us your cool, "old" drill press

Here is a couple of pics of my Excelsior 15" (sorry for the one sideways) I just picked up. It has already been restored so no work for me . I need to have the belts shortened as they do slip a little. It has been a long search looking for this style drill press. It payed off to be be...

    Craftsman Model # 101. 07413 lathe

With it being an Atlas, no change gears, limited tooling I think $350 is top of the mark. Look for a South bend or a Logan they are 10x the machine for not much more money than the Atlas.

Need some help restoring a Walker Turner Drill press...

I have the same band saw. Its a great little machine. Mine had the same issue so I machined a new part since I couldn't find a replacement. It wasn't that difficult. I paid $35 for mine so I think that price is way out of line. If you do end up with it let me know maybe I can help.

    Bandsaw Value from 1 pic

To me it looks like a 14" and I think a fair price is in the $200-$400 range. Parts can be had for them but they are expensive. Make sure its all there and go for it. I have a WT 12" and its a great saw.
