I have been in engineering all my career...since '73, and I've never heard of a 1/4"-32 thread. HOWEVER, I will point out the fact that, for some weird reason, Harley Davidson made 1/4"-24 [Yes, it's true!] that, as far as I know was only used on some of the early 70's shovel head engines...

OH NO it isn't.....the setscrews on the pulleys that the cables are wrapped on could quite possibly have NOT BEEN TIGHTENED the last time the cables were wrapped on them.....

I have used Iron Out for years....have the Kinetico system, and I put a dose (4 oz. I believe) in between each bag of pelletized salt I put in the salt tank. Never had to "let it soak" overnight, as it is slowly absorbed into the resin bed upon the salt being absorbed.

Upon buying this house 30 yrs. ago, we found we had the WORST, darkest, hideous smelling water I'd ever seen... We bought a KINETICO water system, which included a separate carbon filter unit under the kitchen sink solely for drinking (removes salt!)...for $2,000....I know it's more like $3500...

Now...if U had a 22' long x 6' deep x 3-1/2' wide PIT like MINE....you'd be all set!! ;) :p
