Ok, Im Stumped, What Is It?

I know, but a guy can dream right?

Ok, Im Stumped, What Is It?

I'm not saying you are wrong, but I don't know how that would work, and it isn't shaped like any strap wrenches I have ever seen.

Ok, Im Stumped, What Is It?

When closed, it leaves about a 1/16th to 1/8th gap between parts. There is no recess or pocket. I will try to get more pictures when I get back home. Is there an award for stumping the Garage Journal? Doesn't happen very often. :lol_hitti

Ok, Im Stumped, What Is It?

Could it be some type of puller? Such as Romex? My Grandpa was in construction but also had a farm, so maybe that will help narrow it down.

Ok, Im Stumped, What Is It?

It would be awfully heavy for that. It is pretty hefty steel, and there really isn't any pocket for anything to sit in.

Ok, Im Stumped, What Is It?

Found this in a toolbox while going through my Grandfather's estate this weekend. I have no idea what it is, and neither did anybody else in my family. Let's see if any of you can solve the mystery. No name on it. Only text is 2PH. It is about 5" long.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

My wife took most of the kids on a trip this past week, so I made the most of my baby free time. I have been dying to get the barn cleaned up. My barn has slowly been the "junk drawer" of my property. Anything and everything that I didn't want to deal with, or the kids kept outside, or pool...

"Antique and Unusual Wrenches" book available online

Reviving and old thread. I was given this book yesterday from my grandpas estate. The coolest part is there was a hand written letter inside written to the original owner of the book from the author personally answering their question about a particular tool, by Lucille Schulz, one of the two...

    2022 Garage Sale Thread

Got another load from my grandpa's estate. I am very grateful for the things my mom has given/sold me. Today i picked up several books. Mostly on tractors, but did get the Winchester date book that he carried to every gun show he went to. I also picked up a pretty neat book on old wrenches...

Don't worry about the Stahlwille, it is in good company with my larger Snap on wrenches.

    2022 Garage Sale Thread

I got some pictures of the smaller things I was given at my grandpa's estate. Craftsman valve spring compressor, lots of sanding belts, some tractor parts and a couple misc. bullets. Also a strange pair of battery cable pliers. I also got this Porter Cable belt sander, a Snap on puller, a...

I didn't get a coffee can, but did find an exhaust flapper when going through the garage.

    2022 Garage Sale Thread

So this isn't exactly from a yardsale, but I did have to pay for it. Although I got a great deal. We are still dealing with my grandfathers estate, and we are at the point where the aunt and uncle have gotten what they want, and everything left belongs to my mom. Well I have been trying to buy...

    2022 Garage Sale Thread

Pulled this out of the dumpster at work. I know it's not from a garage sale, but I think it still fits in this thread. It's been a while since I have found anything good in the work dumpster. Saw this sitting on top of the trash, took it inside, plugged it in, and it works great. I think it was...

    Orphan Vise Handle

I stopped at a yard sale a few weeks ago and sitting on the table was the handle and screw of what had to be an 8" vise. The main screw was around 1 1/2" in diameter and about 3 feet long. I thought about getting it, but just could not think of what to do with it. I would love to have the...

    Harbor Freight Motorcycle/ATV Jack Rebuild

I picked up a hardly used older yellow Harbor Freight motorcycle jack used from Marketplace for $40. I tested it out as best I could in the back of the guys truck and it seemed to work ok. Brought it home, stood on it, it seemed to work as it should. Put it under my motorcycle, started...

    What is this?

Looks like it's for holding corn cobs. Are the handles made of wood?

    The VISES of Garage Journal

When my grandfather passed, my mom asked if there was anything from his estate that I was interested in. Besides big ticket items like guns and tractors, the two things I specifically wanted were his vise and his anvil. Yesterday I got to pick them up. The vise is a Prentiss 515 with aluminum...

A Shop With Dedicated Rooms/Areas for Different Types of Work?

I would also add leanto's on each side of the exterior. One to park implements and my tractor and mower and the other side for blacksmithing.

I like that especially the double lifts. I would love a 2 post and 4 post lift.
