    How old is this Fluke 88?

    I have the Matco tool version of that. I bought it around 97-98 I think. Price seems fair to me. Mine was the automotive kit version, it was probly $425 or so off the truck. The 88 has been changed since then, but IDK the details. I traded a yellow Fluke 29 plus cash for it. Hard to find a 29...

    Waited 10 days and nothing. I made an online inquiry. They answered back and said my order was cancelled. They had stock when I ordered but it was already sold to somebody else.     Well I just assembled it dry and it still does not work. The selector just does not have enough tension to stay engaged on the left. When you spin the ratchet the selector moves toward the center and locks the ratchet. If you spin it slowly sometimes it will stay. When I flip it right it's...

    See where the pawl fits under the lip of the selector slightly? The pawl has a deep cut on one side, a shallow on the other. When I put the shallow side up I couldn't get the pawl to fit under the lip. But I will try again, hopefully it will work. Good pics btw, I can't seem to get the real...

    Here are the parts: Its hard to believe that spring works the selector, it's TINY. I can see now how grease could cause issues. I will reassemble today dry and see. A couple drops of oil for this type ratchet .............
