    it should be r-10,i really think the work airsealing is what does the trick...as an example i took the carriers beams located on the eve side and built a "cap" across them...then air sealed ...finally i filled in the gap between the two with non-faced fiberglass...yes i could have just thrown...

    sounds like a ***** of a job for sure...if you open a wall midspan you could get the oval pipe in...i've done it...it *****...any chance you could check for obstructions with a inspection snake camera? a wire running through would spoil your fun. go with the vented skylite for sure...good luck...

    you could spray foam but that costs,i checked into the kits sold on the web to do it myself but i decided on rigid foam board from lowes....i used 1 inch as a cut/cobble set up,then used another course over that. will you be finishing wall surface with anything...plywood...sheetrock?

    i used 15/32 araucoply sanded plywood from lowes....i paid $20 and then $22 a sheet for it....at the time i needed it ....7/16 osb was 19 bucks a sheet..to me it was worth a few bucks more...used it for walls and ceilings...took binsealer well. osb is now $16 a sheet in my area...it was 10 when...

    manifold valves and gauges question

    you need to pull a vacuum on line set...the hose's are going to be good for either 800 or 1500 psi...you should be nowhere near that with nitrogen if your flaring copper..try nylog...have had great luck with it
