    Columbian Vise 603 1/2

Columbian 603 1/2 vise that has been in the family as long as anyone can remember. Any way to determine the age or range of manufactured year? Less info available than for the Wilton bullet vises. Aprox value? Thanks, David

    Mobile tool base

I was going to make something to make it easier to move my floor standing Craftsman 150. I ran across these on woot.com. Anyone have experience or suggestions? I thought Harbor Freight had something similar, but I can't find it on their website anymore...

Brushless - Makita and Dewalt too....

Milwaukee Fuel has clearly made a big splash in the market with brushless motors. Makita and Dewalt also have brushless but you hardly hear about it. Makita also has new bigger batteries (4 AH) that are pretty much invisible in retail stores. Why doesn't Makita get more retail traction?

    Straight/True Drill bits.

After finishing my Craftsman 150 restoration last winter, I noticed a lot of my drill bits are not straight. Some just because they are really cheap bits, and some good ones that have been used in hand/portable drills. Seems that a lot of the smaller bits that have been used in a handheld...

    Genius tools???

Ryan is pushing the alliance thing again. I looked at the Vendor list, Genius tools was one of the more interesting ones, and at good discount. Looks like Genius makes/sells good tools, are there any particular stand-outs or have-to-have's in their product line?

    Good Wire wheel

Couple years ago my dad gave me a craftsman 8" grinder with a wire wheel and a stone wheel. I wore out the wire wheel and picked up an identical one at sears. It is significantly out of round and/or unbalanced. What's a good brand for and 8" fine wire wheel? Yhanks, David

    HomeDepot - Makita XT250 - $199 - YMMV

I picked a Makita Hammer Drill / Circular Saw combo with 2 of the big batteries (XT250) for $199 tonight. This is the only Makita Kit with (2) of the 3.0 AH batteries I ever seen on sale for $200. I was going to buy the pair of batteries for $139, but I couldn't pass this up. This price is...

    What's this??

Another tool from my grandpa's stuff. He worked on farm tractors and serviced his own tractor-trailer rigs. He died in 1990, so whatever this is, was applicable to stuff made before then. It's 1/2" drive and was clearly used in an impact wrench. The hex shaft is 7/16" and the end accepts a...

    vintage B&D Grinder

This grinder was left at my Grandfathers shop after a tornado took most of the shop. It's a Black & Decker 8", 3/4HP, 74 type H. Any idea of the manufacturing date? There's a couple of these on vintagemachinery, but no firm dates. It runs and is next in line for restoration after my C150...

    Craftsman bolt-on

Any experience with the Craftsman "Bolt-on" stuff? It kind looks like the typical x-mas/fathers day stuff that sears sells, but now that they introduced the corded version, that makes it more interesting. I'm sure run-time is not even close to Milwaukee/Makita/Dewalt with the big batteries...

    Drill Press Key Storage

The other post about chuck key storage prompted this. My restored C150 is up and running. There is a hole in the table to store the key - IF you can remember to put it there. I have seen others that put it on a small chain, so you can always find it. The chain guarantees it won't get lost...
