Great Stuff Pro Gun Won’t Clean

Bought a Great Stuff Pro 14 foam gun and a bottle of cleaner. Screw on cleaner and nothing. It looks like the threads are too deep to engage valve. I manually cleaned gun and everything is clean and working/moving, so it’s a mating problem. Even screwed on gun head and nothing. What the heck?

    Chain Drive Gemini Lift

Looking for a manual or information on this older 10k Gemini 2 post chain drive lift. No data plate on it, just manufacturer and weight. Can’t seem to find anything out there on it.

    Metal Building Venting

I have a 32' x 85' x 17'(h) metal building in southern AZ. It has insulation that's between the panels and girts/purlins. 2 14' doors. In the summer, it gets really hot with our AZ temps of 110, and takes a long time to cool down. I neglected to install any type of roof venting and wonder if...

    Lift Service Life?

A local shop is selling their 10K Forward and 9K Rotary 2 post lifts. Both around 20 years old. Maintenance has been done on them and still in service; only problems were pumps, cylinders, hoses, and stuff like that. My question is does a lift have a service life? They lift autos all day...

    Metal Roof Screws

My metal building is about 7 years old and has developed roof leaks. Around the sky lights are the worst. The building is 35' x 80' so there are a ton of screws! I can't really get up there every time one starts to leak. Any suggestions?

    Challenger 31000 Lift

I can buy an old, but American made, Challenger 31000 9K lift that's been sitting outside (AZ) for awhile probably for $500-700. I'm concerned all seals, cables, chain, etc. will need to be replaced jacking my investment up. I really like the American made on the data plate..... Anything else to...

    4 Post Lift Designs

Did a search on this and didn't find anything, so sorry if it's been covered. This isn't about what brand is better/worse, but what's a better design for 4 post lifts. Some manufacturers like Advantage and Wildfire sleeve/box the vertical posts with the lifting arms/mechanisms; the vertical...

    Air Supplier Respirators

I do powder coating as a side job and use a liquid stripper to remove old powder coating that contains methylene chloride; nasty stuff. I have the tank outside and am quick to add/remove parts, and can usually do that holding my breath standing upwind; I know, stupid.....(and I have a degree in...

    Metal Building Interior Dividers

I have a 32’ x 85’ X 17’ red metal building. Basically has 3 sections the way the beams are configured. I live in southern AZ and the heat is pretty much unbearable in summer. To cool the entire building would cost a fortune! I was thinking if I could divide one bay where I do most of my...

    Vertical Mill

Have a chance to buy an older vertical mill, think it’s an Enco. I’ve never used one before but love fabricating. I have a drill press, TIG, MIG, etc. What kind of things do you make with yours? Can letters be cut? Without CNC is it limited? Any insight to vertical mills?

    Compressor Motor Suggestion

I have a box store CH 80 gallon compressor that's 10+ YO. I use it pretty hard sand blasting and running air tools so it goes into a continuous run mode often. I replaced the pump 4 years ago with an Eaton double stage after the stock CH locked up. Now the motor is giving me problems; blew a...

How to keep hummingbirds out of garage?

I continue to get hummers in my garage when the doors are open. My ceiling height is 17' with skylights, so they just want to fly up. To get them out, I'll hang a feeder on the roll-up door and try to entice them out. Works most of the time, except for last weekend. Got 2 in first thing in...

    Blair Spot Welder Cutter

So, bought a Blair spot weld cutter for some body work. First spot weld OK, second one broke the teeth on the bit. Turned the bit over to use other side and that lasted only one spot weld. Went back to regular drill bits and finished up the job. What the heck did I do wrong with the Blair...

    Buying Used Lift

Looking at a used Bendpak 12K 2-post lift that was made in 2005 and used daily in a shop. The one bad thing is it has the base plate which I can see as a tripping hazard and for wheeled/caster items. Would you be adverse to buying a used lift that was used like this?

Compressor Problem - Looking for Ideas

First off, this is not a bad post regarding Eaton compressors; they've been great at trying to help fix this problem. I bought Eaton's 5HP dual stage pump that I put on top of an 80 gallon tank; it's almost 2 years old. I have a inter-cooler, water separator and electric air dryer connected in...

    Filling Saw Cut Control Joints

Love that I had my garage floor saw cut for control joints vs. troweled, but one complaint is the edges of saw cuts chipping from stuff getting rolled over them like metal casters, etc. I tried a tube of SikaFlex from Lowes, but with only a 1/4" width, I couldn't get the tip deep enough to fill...

    Power Tool Part Frustration!!!!

Just gotta vent some frustrations on our throw away society..... I have an older, well functioning Delta miter saw that has a broken saw blade safety cover; manufacturer says "No longer supported". So I use it as is, chance getting cut, or spend $$ for a new one? Come on!!! My Dewalt 1/2"...

    Box Store Wood Frustrations

After 20+ years it was time to replace the wood bed on my 20' car trailer. Had a hard time finding acceptable 2x8s at HD, but found enough. Got home and installed and within one day the ends of boards starting splitting and cracking, some quite a ways up on board! Not worth tearing them all...

    Brazing Fuel Tank Fuel Neck

Have a brand new fuel tank that I decided to powder coat at home. That was a mistake! The solder/braze on the filler neck and vent tube ****** melted off! I know they can be brazed back on, but not having done a lot of brazing, is there a particular rod material I should use? Or just take it...

Milton V-style Couplers Hard to Operate

So, moving my compressor into my other garage I decided to switch everything over to the Milton high flow V-style couplers and *******. I've noticed they are very hard to connect together. Is that indicative of these couplers? My son can barely get air tools connected and it's a little...
