    Flir TG165 for automotive diagnostics

First of all yes I know it’s not a full fledged thermal imager. If I had the budget for it I’d be getting something like a Flir E4 or the Snap On one. But I don’t. I have used the Snap On one a couple of times for A/C diagnostics and even diagnosing air leakage in an engine bay on an excavator...

Socket rail that holds both 1/2 drive and 3/8 drive

I need a recommendation for a single rail that holds both 1/2 and 3/8 drive tools- I have a set of 8 hex bit sockets that I want to keep on the same rail...they came shipped on a metal rail but I sprung a couple of the clips by dropping the loaded rail and now I need a replacement. Thanks

CP Right angle impact vs IR Hammerhead

Looking at acquiring a 3/8 right angle impact and these two are available through our tool purchase program at work at a pretty decent price. I know there have been some reviews of the IR version but does anybody have the CP one and could compare it against the IR? Mainly I'm interested in head...

Anybody know if IR is going to release a 3/4 drive companion to the 2235?

Eyeing 3/4 guns (I need one of my own, the shop's one is pretty tired) and the short list one is the Proto J715WP 3/4 impact that is pretty damn strong. I've also been looking at IR's products and want to know if anybody has heard if IR is going to release a new 3/4 impact now that they have...

Who makes this 3/4" breaker bar and ratchet set?

4 pieces, long and short handle and ratchet and breaker bar heads. No COO or brand/makers marks at all. Similar to the Snap On concept.

Photo tach with a remote sensor

I'd like to get a photo tach to keep in my box at work. I can find plenty of cheap ones that you point at the tape and read. . Those are fine, but I need one with a remote sensor. What I would like is one that I can set up the remote sensor on a magnetic mount to point at the engine or other...

12 pt "Flare Nut" crowsfeet for hydraulic lines?

Hey guys, I'm working on construction equipment and I'm looking to add to my arsenal of hydraulic fitting persuasion tools. Currently most of my needs are covered with angle wrenches and standard combo wrenches, but I'm running into tight situations lately that they have not. Today was the...

Anybody incorporated a monitor into their toolbox setup?

What the title says, has anybody incorporated a monitor into their toolbox setup for stuff like viewing schematics, breakdowns, and manuals? Looking to set up something so it's easier to access schematics and manuals at work than on the average laptop screen. Supposedly Snap On is prototyping...

Cornwell truck had a set of these onboard (for about $65 or so, dunno if that's a good price for these, or if I can get them cheaper elsewhere. Researching now) Anybody used this kind before? Any good...

Mayhew Punches at Tractor Supply Co.

Just wanted to let ya'll know that I found a decent little selection of Mayhew punches at my local TSC for reasonable prices, and I assume that means other TSCs are carrying them. Punches aren't the sexiest tools but if you need some, it's not a bad deal at all...I'm thinking of heading back...

I would like to buy a Snap On angle wrench set, the ones with the 30 and 60 degree angles . The big 28 piece VS828A set is what I am ultimately looking for, so let me know if you have one, or a mostly complete set of that one.

    Tool Utility Vehicle style boxes.

So I'm a heavy equipment tech at a major dealership. We do not have assigned bays and also, sometimes end up working at a smaller second shop about 150 yds away from the main shop. The floor in the shops and the concrete in the yard have a bunch of gouges in them from tracked machines and bucket...

Not allowed to use cheater pipes, need help finding some long handled breaker bars

I'm tooling up for work as a heavy equipment mechanic, and found out I'm not allowed to use a cheater pipe, so my beloved 6 ft piece of pipe has to stay home. Consequently, I need some long handled breaker bars (among other ****). One of the mechanics I work under has a nice long 1" drive bar...

Any Snap On MG725 + sockets package deals?

One of the things I'll be looking for this fall when I go to school is a good impact gun with sockets. I know there are a number of routes I could go, such as HF earthquake and HF sockets and so on. I've got some of the HF sockets already and am pleased with them but they will be staying in my...

    Armstrong tools opinions?

Well I'm in the process of becoming a heavy equipment tech. Much of my tools will be provided but I'll need to purchase some of the larger sizes of wrenches and sockets to fill the void between what is provided and what is in the tool crib at the shop, plus I'm waiting to find out about other...
