Does anyone else make cooling system tester adapters that fit the Stant tool?

I just recently bought the Stant pressure tester and the only adapter I need for the three cars I work on is #12025. I knew how much the adapters were before deciding to make the purchase, but before I pay almost as much for 1 single adapter as I did for the whole kit, does anyone else make one...

Which locking pliers currently on the market hold up the best?

Please no one say Vice Grip. I believe they make the jaws/teeth out of silly putty to cut production costs. Some brand new ones were just recently purchased by a coworker and he hates them for that very reason. I have two pairs of Grip On (that I bought a few years ago from Snap On) that are...

How important is COO to you and why?

I took a longish break from this forum, but back in 2014 when I started posting here, nearly everyone was big on buying USA made. I’m getting the vibe that that is changing now. Does COO matter to you? Why or why not? For me it matters for a couple of reasons. I don’t necessarily need USA...

What are everyone's thoughts on Makita Gold bits?

I've used quite a few brands of bits in the past. My Proto bits have been the least likely to deform, but at this point I think I've cracked all of those in half. I have a lot of Chinese craftsman bits that twist like lead after one use, so I try to only use those for soft woods. I also have...

Can anyone offer details on this drill press?

Picked up (another) drill press off of craigslist. It was only $50, and works great, so I bought it despite having very little information on it. There's a bit of surface rust which I plan to clean up. The older couple that I bought it off of said that it was sitting in the garage when they...

Other than snap on, what's a good triple square socket set?

These aren't something that I use often, because I rarely work on German vehicles. So I'm not looking to buy the Snap On set unless things change. So what other sets are good quality but don't cost $260? Thanks in advance.

Need help understanding brushed DC motor torque loss.

I pulled a window motor out of a minivan about a month ago because under a load it wouldn't spin (it basically wouldn't move the window up and down) but would spin fine unloaded. I replaced it and the new one worked fine, and I sent the vehicle out the door. But I kept the motor so I could...

Who makes the AT200D for Blue Point?

I picked up an older blue point 3/8" air ratchet at the flea market for $30 and it works great, so I just ordered a new AT200D to go with it. I noticed it is made in Japan, and I started to wonder who actually made the thing. Anyone know?

Are all Wright wrench sets Wright Grip?

I did a little searching on the Wright set #958. I found a thread from a few years ago on here, and they first sentence from the OP was something like "I got rid of my non Wright Grip set 958." I'm wanting to get the #958 set from HJE, but only if it's a Wright Grip set. Did they start making...

Opinions on air lift tool for cooling system?

Not really looking for recommendations for a particular model, because if I get one it will be the Snap On one that uses the same adapters as the Snap On pressure tester uses, since we already have that and all of the adapters at the shop. I'm looking for opinions here. I've used one of these...

    Koken ease of warranty?

I broke a 5mm hex ("Allen") socket today replacing sway bar links (on a 2015 Escape with 18K miles, so nearly no corrosion or rust), so when I say broke, I mean the tip sheared right off under nearly no load at all. I'm assuming this HAD to be some kind of a defect, and am in no way complaining...

Gearwrench impact socket sets at CPO

For anyone interested, CPO seems to have some pretty good prices on gearwrench impact socket sets. The big sets, from 8-36mm without skips. I bought the 1/2" deep set a couple of weeks ago. Will probably get the shallow set next week.

M18 Fuel Impact Driver - Sometimes Unresponsive

I've been using this at work every day now for a few months. Never dropped it, never thrown it out of anger, nothing like that. Starting last week, about 10-15% of the time when I pull the trigger it does nothing. I pull the trigger a bunch of times in a row and it starts working and it...

Do SK swivel sockets have common pin breakage?

I broke a 19mm 3/8" drive yesterday. It was my fault. I don't have 1/2" swivel impacts, so I put a 3/8" on one of those Snap On adapters with the replaceable square drive, and attached everything to a fairly new 2235timax. Turned the power up, and four hits in the pin broke into two pieces. I'm...

What kind of ratcheting wrench design does Snap On use?

I tried looking this up a few times in the past, especially after seeing the video showing the new SK design of ratcheting wrench, but didn't find anything. Is there a design difference between your typical GW style single pawl ratcheting wrench and SnapOn's?

Was this a good deal on Japanese NSK micrometers?

It was a crappy wet day for the flea market. I got one Snap On screwdriver for $1 and was about to leave, and this guy that's there every week told me to take a look at a set of Micrometer's he had before I left. He brought them over and I took a look. They were in a wooden box, a 0-4" set...

Does anyone else here deal with fishing reels?

Curious as to whether there are others here that buy/sell/trade/fix/use fishing reels. I've fished my whole life. Still do it pretty frequently. I buy a lot of older model fishing reels, as they seem to have been made better in the past (with the exception of newer, higher end reels). Some I...

Who has used Proto impact bit sockets?

Many times I've wanted to grab bit sockets (hex and torx mainly) and put them on an impact but I don't. I'd like to get some good quality impact rated bit sockets and I saw that Proto has plenty of them...

Misc wrenches and some other stuff for trade

I buy a lot at the flea market on the weekends, most of it I keep, and some of it I trade off. Figured I might be able to trade some of it faster on here. I'll start with some wrenches I already had upstairs, and there's more in the basement. I'm not hard to deal with. I don't have a lot of...

Have any trouble with Snap On extensions not fitting onto ratchets?

I bought a lot of tools at the fleamarket the other day (posted the pictures in garage sale thread). One of the things that was in that lot was an FXK3 SO 3/8" drive extension. It's looks brand new, which I thought was odd when I got it. But after trying to put it on some ratchets (tried it...
