    Garage floor slope

I wish I had some of these slopes. My garage drops 16" in 22 feet. The driveway is very steep leading up to it so my estimate is that it that the garage was also pitched so that cars pulling in wouldn't bottom out as they enter. It is definitely a struggle. Anything that rolls wants to go with...

Safety 101- Anybody wanting to share their safety tips when using their tools??

Dont take safety around pneumatic or powder actuated nailers for granted. It only takes a second for a whoops to happen. The injury below was on my hand and was caused when the nailer fired twice. The first nail went where it was supposed to, the second one ricocheted off the head of the first...

WIFI Security Cameras - Need advice!

I have been using the Netgear Arlo wireless system for about 4 months. They are completely wireless, each camera is powered by 4 cr123 batteries. Life on the batteries seems good as long as there isnt a crazy amount of motion. They store 7 days of recordings(cloud based) for free and it is...

    Toolbox Decal Addiction

I tend to go mostly under the lid on the good box. I've had a couple escape and end up out front but for the most part they stay under. My craftsman boxes havent done so well, they look like a 10 year old got a little crazy with the sticker box on them...

Trying to find out if a tstat exists

Hey Folks. I'm trying to find out if a tstat exists that has something like a circulate or freeze protect mode. The situation is at a home that is not occupied daily. It is heated with baseboard hot water(no glycol). My concern is, being in the northeast, that if the zone was to go for an...

Miller diversion 165 tig versus 180?

Don't know if it matters to you or not but the 165 I believe is only 230V. The 180 is dual voltage.

    "new: tool for electrical work

The problem with these combo fasteners is the flat and Phillips screwdrivers don't "really" work in them. The only thing that is decent is the Robertsons but with the fastener opened up for the flat blade they aren't even ideal for that. I really was impressed with how well these combo tips have...

    "new: tool for electrical work

So I discovered this screwdriver a few weeks ago. I thought maybe I had just missed it before but I've asked six electricians and they had never seen it before either. It is a combo tip screwdriver, made by Klein. it is for use on the combo (square Phillips flat) fasteners that are becoming more...

Need some advice on contacting a local Snap-on truck

I agree with Solo. I have had mostly good luck with Dealers. I am a building mechanic so, while I like the nice tools, its not a place a driver would stop. I have a Snap on dealer a few streets over. I stopped in a couple years when I saw him out at his truck. I buy things here and there from...

    Dust Buster recommendations?

At work and at home I use the Makita cordless vacuum. Uses my 18v batteries and really provides good service. Its not a bad deal as a bare tool if you already have that line of battery powered equipment.

    Researching 1st AC/DC TIG Welder

I have got a Miller Diversion 180. I know its a touch out of your budget but it does give you a little more power than the 165 and also gives you the 110V capability for portability. It has worked well for my needs( little fab projects, repairs, etc). I would definitely recommend it for what you...

youtube reviewers, who is good and who is bad?

I'll throw in a recommendation for Paul Short on youtube. if you dig tools, garages, tractors and modifications of any of these this guy is worth checking out. I watch most all his videos. Most of them are based on repairs and modification to Kubota tractors as well as general automotive repairs...

A little winter project to clean up a bit

Thanks. The receiver tubes are actually pretty cheap. $12-$14.00 from etrailer or amazon. They really don't seem to be an issue sticking out. Since the drawbars bottom out inside the receiver tube it really isn't that bad. And Jim is absolutely correct, it could have definitely be done with just...

A little winter project to clean up a bit

I have a few things that plug into my trailer hitch, draw bars, tow hooks, a step etc.. It seemed like they were always laying around and in my way. Decided this week to try and remedy that. Its working out pretty well and definitely got them all up and out of the way.
