Made a "small" score today
Flexo drafting lamp with articulated arm and a Wilton 925 bullet vise
Thats not a small score. How many baby Wiltons does this now make?
I would be happy to take that Wilton off your hands, I like the base.

I have had terrible luck this year until today when I at least had some very small success at a couple of garage sales.

Not sure if this is actually a success. I have never used these and they seem kind of gimmicky but they are very well made and I got them for $4.50 after some bargaining.....the missing one will now drive me nuts.
Thats kind of what I figured...someones bright idea but man they are nicely made. I have no idea how popular these were but I doubt I will ever find the missing one and its already bugging me....I have a set of those and HATE them. My father bought them for me when I was a kid and got himself a set too. I've never had any luck with them. They slip and round the bolt off and cause ****** knuckles.
The box ends are fine though.
I'll keep an eye out. I actually run into loose ones a few times a summer around here.Thats kind of what I figured...someones bright idea but man they are nicely made. I have no idea how popular these were but I doubt I will ever find the missing one and its already bugging me....

The second item is what's on top of the shelf. A cool little (15" high) vintage desk top drill press. I never saw anything like it and for $10 I had to have it for future restoration. It has one broken section that will need repair and I will have to find an equally small motor for it. The bonus was pulling up to the owners house and discovering the seller was an old friend and former co-worker I had not seen in years. It's a small CL world sometimes.
That press is sweet. And a re-acquaintance to boot. Any identifying marks on the press??

Last item is a Mystery, as it looks like a huge fish hook, but the threads make me wonder if its a clamp of some kind. If anyone can help identify it, let me know.

Here's a tease from my first stop today...
...and yes, it works.
Those pliers look like the Uticas I have and they are old linesmans pliers. If its a Utica it will have three small diamonds on the side (usually close to the pivot) with U in one, ti in the other and ca in the last one and the handle will have a checked pattern.Thought I had struck out again and passed by this little garage that didn't have much in it. Got to talking and started digging through an old box. Pulled out a bunch of old indestro, a few sk, and some various other sockets. Plus a pretty cool set of old pliers (linesmans?). Turned out the guy has relatives down where I'm from and we must have chatted for 40 minutes haha. Anyway when he said $10 I didn't even bother trying to deal him down. Plus he said he was trying to downsize so I figured best to make friends and come back and see what else he digs up.
