Continuing again ...............
The last item has a little story to it.
Once upon a time ............
In a reality far, far away ..............
So, my buddy and I used to work in technical theater. That's a fancy way of saying that we were crew. In a world of Unions, we worked freelance for ourselves (we never crossed the line, and kept a very good relationship with the local Shop Stewards). One of the clients we had was a small scenic shop that eventually grew into a multi-million dollar business. It went from 10 employees up to nearly 100 at one point. My friend eventually went to work at the shop fulltime (to pay for 5 kids) and during that time the shop had to move 3 times into larger buildings to keep up with the jobs (and then they boned all the original employees by laying them off to cut payroll
).
So, what does this have to do with the last item I picked up ?
Well, when they moved out of building #2 they had to strip the place clean because it was rented. Not everything needed to be used at the new "factory" that they bought. So, much of it was scrapped. Some of it ended up with the employees. The item I picked up from my friend's garage was used to keep the air in the "clean-room" free from sawdust and dirt.
Pics 9-12 -
PowerMatic Airomax #1102 air filtration unit.
it takes 16"x27" 2" filters and has a 12" duct coming out
it pushes about 750 CFM
This thing is a monster. It could **** a cat though a needle and spit it out through the far wall !
I have no idea how I'll fit it into my shop with low ceilings yet, but I ain't gonna give up on it.
All I need to do to it is patch a hole that was cut into the side and buy a few filters.
