Oh, I *have* seen a couple times where they mark over the UPC barcode (or even cut it out) and use the "This Item Only" sticker to price a few things... Like florescent tubes, since they can't throw those in the trash (mercury)...

What's the next big thing going on? I'm guessing just the "Spring Event Sale"? My store has been getting in a few vegetables & herbs and setting up the rows for all the outdoor plants, but we still get some freezing weather in March so it will probably be a couple more weeks *at least* until they get the bulk in. As-is they have to keep moving the plants on carts into the greenhouse area and even the corner of the garden/patio stuff to keep from freezing...

My store still had some of the diablo recip blades in the corner near the pro desk on clearance. Of course the few blades left didn't have tags so I had to look them up (and they don't have a SKU, only the UPC). I think they were even only at .06 pricing too...

I vaguely remember seeing some of those kettles in the isle at my store a month or so ago on clearance. I don't remember seeing them last couple times I went, I think all the grills are at full price now that the weather is warming up...

Where? Nothing around here (ne IL) in stores, $149 shipped to store.

They had 5 left in Londonderry, NH after I took mine. I think these were leftovers from Christmas.

Thanks for whoever posted the Milwaukee Rocket Light down to $200. I've been waiting on that for awhile but I was sick this week so I didn't think about going to check prices. I went this morning and my store was already cleared out, but checked the PCA and found it at the next store over. I ending getting $50 off of it as well because I had a gift card that had an invalid pin for whatever reason so because of me waiting for 15-20 min, the very nice self checkout guy offered the discount to me. Great deal!!

thanks for the deckmate tips.. grabbed some 25lbers. easy pickens on those thanks to the picture tips. also found plenty of parking lot receipts for menards match... over $1000 worth today alone < $100 MIR > thank god for those purell wipes at the door ha

I scored one yesterday. Got the display of the Rocket Light & the Radius light for $150, before 10% off each. Then 11% gift card on top.

Also scored the Packout Kit for $450 w/ 9ah battery today. Lowes/Military discount won't work with free item promo's typically, so they marked the Kit down 10% manually. +11% rebate

No, it is not fraud, wrong, or illegal. A UPC is just a code the store uses to identify items, it has no particular meaning or value, it's just a stock number they choose.

Interesting. I wonder if Home Depot would consider it fraud if I started ripping off the UPC code from other lesser expensive items and then taping them over the actual UPC!

they most certainly would. It would be theft by deception/shoplifting I believe. It’s the same as when HD takes a UPC off a more expensive item and puts it on a cheaper one is in fact fraud.

Yes, buyers changing price tags is a form of shoplifting and is a crime.

Dear armchair lawyers:

1. This is the Deals thread
2. Law varies by state, attached is an example - a4 specifically. Why'd I choose Texas? It was plainly written and in a format that allowed a relatively small screenshot.
3. Stores may use whatever identification internally, provided all descriptions, model numbers, etc indicate the appropriate item. Otherwise feel free to research retail bait and switch and/or deception laws.

I've noticed quite a few "new" weber gas grills popping up on CL cheap... Is Home Depot or Lowes getting rid of some older models again? I've been trying to find a natural gas version and inventory of those is usually pretty low compared to LP.

Do these prices change based on the store you have specified? Both of these are full price for me and it's been less than an hour. Are you still seeing those prices?

He's posting the link to show you what it is. You have to go to the store to see if they are marked down. You use the sku in store on the computer to look it up and see the pirce/stock.

Do more reading on how all this works...

My understanding was that each store has their own schedule for what and when they mark it down correct? That is also what the HD discount link stated. If that is in fact factual then in reality the odds of one store having the same discounted price would be slim to none correct? It seems this is almost more about "look what I got" than actually being a discount thread. just my opinion. I do appreciate the effort put in by those who find these but has anyone else actually used the info/links in this particular posts and found the same deal at their local store?

If you have specified the HD store on their site wouldn't that generally reflect the current price as well since it is checking their inventory? Or do they not update their site with current pricing, discounts, sales, etc? I do see a clearance issue on their site as well.

No Dave that is incorrect...

Many manufacturers come out with a new model annually... So the change out in stores happens at roughly the same time nationwide... However it depends on the existing quantity of the old item and how quickly it sells before marking down to make room for the new one.

Some items are things that have been sitting in the store for too long and they don't plan on ordering any additional quantities of them, so they get marked down until they clear out existing inventory.

Understood. So basically the SOP here would be to take these SKUS, go find them at your store and scan them to see what the current price is? Is it safe to assume if there are 10+ in stock it probably isn't discounted? Just trying to get a feel for this before driving to home depot every time someone in another state finds a deal. It'd be nice if home depot kept their prices updated on a store by store basis but that's probably asking too much.

If you punch in the SKU on the website and it shows full price + available quantity for your store then you know it is NOT on clearance at your store.

If it says "not available in store" then either it's on clearance, or your store doesn't have any.

A good place to start is to use a store computer and open the PCA, punch in the SKU and it will show the in-store price and inventory count (take the count with a grain of salt). If it's on clearance at a price you want to pay, then you can go searching for item, but don't expect it to be in its normal spot. They are usually up high, or shoved behind the "newer" models...

How often you want to go to your HD is up to you. I will swing by mine if I'm in the area but I don't make special trips just to go see as I know my store doesn't keep a ton of excess inventory like other stores do.

The best way is to go to the store, find a public facing computer, open up the price check app, and enter the item to see what the in store price is. The store website doesn’t reflect clearance prices at Home Depot so you have to use the PCA. While you’re in the PCA, search some other items to see if you can locate any other clearance items. Search things like Milwaukee, compressors, Weber, etc. If you find good clearance deals, take a picture of the screen (or label if you find it walking the aisles) and post it here. Sometimes you’ll see that the price in the PCA can be lower than the label where the item is.

Be aware, some screws are still at. 03, while others pennied. Ended up other 2x25# boxes at. 02 and 4x5# at 30.12 (7.53 each). All were 9ga x 2.5", red. Also had Johnson water seal at 7.30, down from almost 29. Grabbed three jugs to redo my decks, and still had several out. Sitting on the side of the paint mixing desk.

Milwaukee sawsall went to $200.00 1002082502. 2 25 pound with $68.00 price for.01 each. These were Philips head. Another store had the price at$68.00 computer showing $25.03.
