All, I couldn't resist this one, in the absence of the three rodents Shelby has been making the best of her free reign of the place.

She is not normally an inside dog but the couch in the lounge room is her favorite spot:thumbup:

Have a great day and enjoy your Thanksgiving..

Great photo. Certainly makes me smile.

I am not sure if it is the case with Shelby, but often dogs have their senses so in tune with ours and just need to be close to us, so maybe she enjoys keeping close to you as well.

1/2: my wife and I flew to California to visit our son for Thanksgiving and it was 90 degrees and not the standard snow or cold and wet weather we have here. all the other kids were at their in laws so a very peaceful few days other than the fact he isn't home much and doesn't have any AC in his apartment cause he works 16 hour days and his work has AC.

nice work figuring out the issue with the MGF and i have no idea how you did that and no wonder Andrew would rather bring his car issues to you than anybody else.

great picture of Shelby and even though you have a great home i know your dogs are part of the family and are allowed to share in it's comforts after they wipe their feet.

cheers and glad you are still making steady progress to GET HEALTHIER almost every day.

Rian, Spot on:thumbup:

Dogs have a sixth sense and she knows what's going on I am sure..

Andy I had to capture the moment, Shelby is pretty intense...

Todays update below..

Yep, aftermarket and poor installation:shocking:

Glad to hear that you are getting better Steve. Slow and steady always gets to the end. Keep plodding along.:)

Dan, thank you..

I am just going with the flow at the moment, you can't fight it but I will get there...

Drives, it would have been nice to escape the cold for just a while. I would of thought Air conditioning would be a must in California??

I am still waiting on the machining to be completed on the cam shaft seal retainer plate, it is only a 15 minute job in reality if I had a lathe I would do it myself.:eyecrazy:

Its ever so hard to get Shelby to sit still at the best of times so that is a 1 in 1000 shot let me tell you.
Their feet are most likely cleaner than mine..:scared:

Todays Update:

My bloods this morning were fine and that has paved the way for the Immunotherapy trail to begin mid December:thumbup:
Being a trial and the drugs not approved for in Australia at the moment there is quite a lot of logistics and hoops to jump through, even to get them into the country. Anyway they are showing great results in the States and the UK.

I have been experiencing some muscle and joint pain & a little breathlessness since the last Chemo so the specialist ordered a scan this morning just to be sure and I have a mild infection in the lungs, so I am back on Antibiotics as of 10 minutes ago just to clear things up. Other than that things are going well..

Thank you one and all, have a great day..

Steve, it's good to hear you are finished with chemo and starting on Immunotherapy. You are often in my thoughts and you doing better is a great comfort (I hate when my prayers are ignored).

A Belgian Malinois accompanied Seal Team 6 on the Osama bin Ladin mission. The breed is used more than German Shepherds because their smaller size makes tandem rappelling and parachuting easier.

I remember your video of Shelby in the shed with her favorite toy. I came across a video that shows high-energy is a breed trait. Probably Shelby's laid back little brother:

Jon, sincerely thank you..

I am taking things pretty slowly today as the scan I had yesterday was a contrast scan that the radiologist injects this dye into your blood stream through an IV line so I have been a little more sleepy than usual today.

Great picture of Shelby. QCT with dad. Beer tasting, there you go. Better for you than soft drinks.

Shorty, Quality Couch Time, I luv that..:rocker:

She gets a bit radical at times when she is inside so you have to keep a good eye on her but in general she's not too badly behaved..

I should try some different brands of beer actually, the doctor did say it would be good for me ( in moderation of course )

Bob, thank you so much as with everyone's thoughts and prayers they are much appreciated I can tell you, as it does give me a great deal of comfort to know that and I am just so humbled..

As you can see on the video a Belgium Malinois is fairly intense and very much like Shelby but a little bit better trained by the looks of things.

Thank you for sharing the video as its Shelby all over..

I had heard that a Belgian Malinois accompanied Seal Team 6 on the Osama bin Ladin mission.
Our Boarder Security, Police and Armed Forces use the breed a lot.

Like Mrs 1/2 Cup has always said there are dogs then there is the Belgiums, they are truly a breed on there own.

Again, thank you one and all.:thumbup::thumbup:

Sub too easy, the pleasure is all mine..:rocker:

I am on the Antibiotics for a week and have another prescription if required so we will see how I go, hopefully they will give me back a little more energy.
Mrs 1/2 Cup is keeping a watchful eye on me let me tell you..

That was a once in one thousand shot as Shelby does not sit idle very long, just check out the You Tube video that Bob kindly shared and you will understand.

Have a top day and thank you for your visit..

1/2: i don't want to worry you, but i lost an Uncle that beat cancer, but caught a cold and that sent him to the best garages we dream of. hopefully with all the care and Mrs. 1/2's monitoring you will get rid of your cold and be feeling better soon. PRAYERS SENT!!

just curious if you noticed a new garage thread from a new member in SIBERIA? he's got quite the sense of humor and considering where he lives has a lot of interesting stories to tell too. here's the link:

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=376409

in case you hadn't seen Don Long's post i got to see him and his bride and the PARTY GARAGE in person last week and it's even better in person and Don and Ann were great hosts.

hope you are feeling better today and here's to another good day on GJ.

cheers

drives, no worry at all. Sad to read that you lost your uncle to cancer even after he had beat the disease.
I am getting well looked after by Mrs 1/2 Cup and since I have had the infection have been overly cautious and just taking things easy, still on the Antibiotics.
I am not doing to badly this morning at all..

We received news last night that I am not eligible for the trial Immunotherapy drug that has not been officially released out here yet, how ever starting next Wednesday I am starting on an approved Immunotherapy drug, this brings my treatment forward some what.

I have been following Stas26 - Siberia thread with interest but have not commented as yet, it has been a great read..

What a privilege to be able to visit Don and Ann's Big Party Garage it reads like you had a great time..:bowdown:
I must say I am more than just a tad envious and should include that on my bucket list as well..

And likewise have a great day on the GJ....

drives, thank you I am all good..

I had my bench mark blood test yesterday in readiness for the first of Immunotherapy next Wednesday..

I am envious of your visit that's for sure:thumbup::thumbup:

It is a tad damp underfoot in this neck of the woods, some of our rain fall catchment areas have seen nearly 8" of rain over night. In terms of flooding Shepparton should be Ok, there are a number of road closures around the district. It will take a few days to understand where will be effected down stream of those catchments.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-12-02/victoria-weather-melbourne-storm-live-blog/9218534

I have my Gumboots out should we need them..

He may be under the weather today like I am. We have almost had a months worth of rain here in the last 48 hours.

HOTFR8, the same here.

I measured 81 mm ( about 3 1/4 inches ) in the last 48 hours we sure wont need to water the gardens any time soon.

Thank you one and all, enjoy your week end..

About 36 mm of rain here but the gauge may have overflowed. Still raining here.

HOTFR8, I seems like the western - central half of the state didn't get as much rain. Bendigo got 1 mm yesterday in the same time we had 32.:headscrat

Cloudy and overcast here today, no rain at this point since 4.00 am this morning..

Haven't had quite so much rain south of the Divide, maybe only an inch or so down Surfcoast way. We could do with more..

Ralf, you are spot on there:thumbup:

It was as dry as chips here prior to the rain and its given every thing a good drench. Our farmers are right in the middle of harvest so we may see some damage there..

Stay dry and have a good one..

1/2,
Glad everything now seems to be going your way and still wishing you the best. On a side note you mentioned farmers in the middle of harvest, might I ask what all is farmed down under? The only thing we have harvested at the beginning of summer around here is wheat.

1/2: i'm guessing with all that rain and now maybe some summer heat it might be a bit muggy so hopefully your SHED'S AC is working well.

also just checking in and letting you know i'm still hanging in there rooting for you to get back to 100% so you can maybe get back to DRONE FLYING and inspecting all your cool work sites that look more like vacation spots soon.

best of luck

Still a misty rain here and that (sadly) is enough to stop me being able to do anything outside. Very sloppy underfoot as well.

HOTFR8, our lawns had dried out sufficiently and we were able to mow them yesterday and with all the rain plus another sprinkle over night they will grow like crazy over the next week or so..
Still a lot of road closures and standing water around the district though..

JB, thank you.

Where we live there is just a huge variety and diversity of Agriculture from cropping, horticulture and dairy.
Right at the moment its wheat, barley, oats and canola getting stripped and this usually runs until Christmas.
In the horticulture areas there is Apricots, cherries and stone fruits getting picked with peaches, pears and apples to follow early next year.
Our area is also big in tomato and rice growing as well.
Dairying is in full swing as you can imagine.
Ours is a mixture of dry land and irrigated agriculture with all the associated processing plants and support industries..

So its fairly busy all round..

drives, the temperature following the rain has been kind to us thank fully so I have been able to get by with the ceiling fans in the shed ( not that I have had a whole heap of *QST of late )

I am still experiencing some muscle and joint pain & a little breathlessness since the last Chemo, I am still running the course of antibiotics to deal with the mild infection in the lungs which seams to be improving some what.

I start the Immunotherapy tomorrow so that will be interesting as the drug that is used has its own raft of side effects..

http://www.chemocare.com/chemotherapy/drug-info/Nivolumab.aspx

In terms of just how this will effect me I am unsure, the treatment by infusion will be every two weeks and for how long I do not know at this point in time.

I am looking forward to getting back to firing on all cylinders and getting back to work in some capacity but I can't see myself working even part time for another month, all going well.

So I am just going with the flow and still taking things easy pretty much..

Thank you one and all, enjoy your day..

Andy, thank you for dropping by .

I hope everything works in your favor Steve and a speedy recovery.

Bret

Bret, thank you.

From all reports the Immunotherapy drug has had some great results, it even has similar side effects to the Chemo and I am hoping that I am not impacted as much as I was...

Our weather has improved here and like you I will using that mower soon. Mostly weeds and not the lawn although I should add the Lippia grass has taken off with all that rain.

HOTFR8, the grass and the weeds have shot up today and could do with a trim again:willy_nil

The only trouble I have is that Mrs 1/2 Cup has banned me from using the mower or edger which I am more than happy with at the moment, with the exception of the millimeter perfect edges she does a great job with the mower and is real fussy..

Thank you one and all, enjoy your day..

It looks like we need some Quality Tuition Time for the lawn edging, here is a pass..

Here in the States, we have the saying “Over the top”, for when somebody takes things a bit too far.

Micrometer on the lawn edge is approaching OCD, or at least “A bit too far” :lol_hitti

1/2: i'm betting you didn't bring out the measuring tools while teaching Mrs. 1/2 how you like your lawn's edging cause i think she's cooking your meals isn't she?

hope you are feeling ok or maybe better than ok today.

I did dads edges......... when he has a look I don’t think the verniers will be needed lol:shocking: I’m lucky the lawn will grow fast this time of year with the recent rain.

Dad has been sent to lock down (hospital) for a dyne tune :3gears: usual stuff that chemo etc can bring, transfusion, tests n more tests to make sure all is on track.

Andrew: thanks for the update on DAD'S health status and still crossing my (our) fingers he gets rid of this ****. also very nice of you to stop in and help mom (and Dad or 1/2cup as we all know him) take care of some of the chores.

1/2: best of luck with the process and we're all still here pulling for you to get back to close to or at 100% again.

speaking of difficult problems. my bride moved a couple chairs around and the location of our sofa and ordered a little table. she didn't know it came with SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED. OMG i wish i had my woodshop set up so i could make one of these out of real wood, but this will do for a bit until that happens.

now following the directions i almost did ok, but missed one thing so i had to drill an extra hole to make it work.

the issue is this piece behind the door's handle that is 4 screw heads (no screws) and they are NOT CLOCKED. how in the world will i be able to sit next to this little table without thinking of 1/2 cup now. well it's all together and I'm thinking of you.

take care and hope they are giving you ice cream or something good to eat.

cheers
