Bobby, thank you.

Congrats on the new family addition.

Hewey, thank you.

Congratulations Steve [emoji4]

Sent from my SM-J105Y using The Garage Journal mobile app

Mark, thank you.

Sounds you're working hard at winning the pneumonia battle.
Congrats on the new GRANDSON!:thumbup::thumbup:

Jon, thank you.

I am feeling great and only another two days to go on the IV antibiotics then more bloods and a CT scan on Tuesday.
My Oncologist will look at me preceding with Immunotherapy if all is ok.

Congratulations on the new grandson. And if I remember he is fairly close to where you live. That is good.

Sounds like you are working on beating the P word and that there is someone watching you at home and at work.
Hope you had a good weekend

Dwight

Dwight, thank you.

Andrew lives about 10 minutes drive out of town which is real handy.

I have been taking things easy at the moment and have hardly been in the shed this week end.
Surprisingly all through this P episode I have felt great.

Adding my congrats to all the above Grandpa! Another little boy in the family, that's great news.

Bob

Bob, thank you.
Our familly right through is predominately all boys.
I do know the Mrs 1/2 Cup would love a Grand daughter at some point.

Now that's just dumb.

But very funny!!:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

Andy :lol_hitti

Again thank you one and all, enjoy your weekend..

Just for clarification to those who are confused by this statement, Guster is referring to Little Boy Toys.

Big Boy Toys are so very well covered in the Shed Downunder.

Andy thank you for clearing that up/:thumbup:

I have been pondering on Little Boys Toys and I really think that the young lads should grow up using real toys right from the start along with a good dose of Shed Etiquette to help them on their way.

 Congrats on the new arrival

xtremek thank you.

All's well.

Thank you one and all, have a great day..

1/2: your plan for the grandsons sounds like a good one and add SAFETY 101 too.

did you get the ALL CLEAR from the Dr. on your "P" diagnosis?

hoping for the best and still sending prayers.

cheers and just had an IPA and heading out to use my 70 year old push mower on my little patch of lawn that is growing like a weed now with temps in the mid 80's today.

take care

We have friends who had seven boys. The lady always wanted a daughter but it was not to be.

Then she had granddaughters. She said "they just hang on my skirt, sometimes I wish they'd just go out and play like the boys".

Drives, our boys will get a healthy dose of Safety 101:thumbup::thumbup:

Nice to see you are getting a bit of warm weather now, your garden looks a treat.

Thank you for your support and prayers:thumbup: ( see update below.)

:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

Andy, seven boys that's unreal as it almost makes a cricket team.:thumbup:

IMHO there is a real need to multi skill a childs upbringing and at some times you just have to cut the apron strings.:lol_hitti

All, I have been given the all clear on the pneumonia today which is a great relief.

I also had my flue vaccination today which makes a total of nine injections for the last week:
2- cannula injections with 1 - vein miss. ( so we try again )
1 - flue vaccination.
1 - blood sample with 1 vein miss. ( so we try again )
1 - local anesthetic.
1 - fine needle aspiration for a cell sample in the lymph node in my neck.
1 - contrast dye for a CT Scan.

So I am feeling much like a pin cushion at the moment.

The CT scan was all clear in the lungs but did show some swelling in the left lymph node in my neck, so I am booked in for a PET Scan next week to assess what needs to be done for a little more radiation treatment in that area to mop up those errant cancer cells and from there its back onto the immunotherapy

Thank you one and all, have a top day..

Looks like some nice CNC gear that would be perfect in the shed to cut that 16mm left hand thread arbor bolt for the cold saw - it should pay for itself in no time at all.

1/2: looks like things are really getting back to normal in the SHED DOWNUNDER. all i need to hear is you going to the gym a few days a week to build up your strength so you can lift and carry some of those cool finds back home.

great news at the Dr., but GEESH they run you through a lot of tests. Again best of luck getting the C completely out of your body and sending it down the road.

just curious did any of the Doctors mention what might have caused your cancer so maybe you can change your diet or your ways?

thanks for the good words about my yard and even though i trimmed my grass edges to the sidewalk by hand I still didn't get them at nice as yours with your power tools so don't look too close.

have a great day!!

That LeBlond lathe would be just the ticket for The Shed Downunder.

The South Bend looks fine too!

What a sale!! Be sure to take a folding stool.

True, the LeBlond would leave a bit more space for one of the larger mills to fit in the shed as well.

The small "precision" South Bend lathe appears to be an Australian clone made by Hercus in the 40's or 50's. There were a number of local manufacturers of clones mid last century - I have a made in Melbourne Sheraton Precision AM in my own shed, but would happily push it to the side to fit in the CNC and a mill..

The auction is only a couple of hours away from me. Maybe, if I'm lucky, I will be able to drag some of it home - I'm pretty confident that if I move all of the stuff and motorcycles out of my shed I'll be able to squeeze the round stock and rack in between the CNC and a mill or two.
I promise to post photos when done.

I even spot a fly-press!

The sad part is all that tooling will be mixed up into lots rather than organised with the machines. Full set of machine tooling more than doubles a machine's value but the people selling don't know that. It is such a shame when it gets scrapped because a buyer only wanted some of it.

Glad you got the all-clear 1/2Cup. Sound like they all but checked the oil and water. Hope the swelling is just related to the lung infection.

So true on tooling being separated from the machine. And too bad. They about all do it.

Steve we can feel you trembling over here on the other side. Hope you don't have to wait too long?

Bobby for sure this will be a good one..

Ralf99 there is some very nice stuff and you are right it would be great in the shed.
I have not replaced that 16mm left handed bolt as yet, I am a little loathe to pay $55 for it.

Pin cushion is an understatement. You're looking to bring all of that stock home, right? ;)

xtremek I am a little sore today from the needle I received in the lymph node in my neck the rest are fine.

I was drooling over my keyboard looking at it all:drool:

Drives, I am pretty active at the best of times but you are right I do need to regain some muscle tone.

My Oncologist leaves no stone unturned, hence all the tests.
One thing I have learnt through my Cancer journey is that it is a disease that never discriminates, young, old, healthy or fit we can all get it and there is no rhyme nor reason for it.

As I said your garden does really looks a treat.:thumbup:
Early spring is a wonderful time for the gardens.

Andy, you had better believe it:thumbup:

I have already told Mrs 1/2 Cup I will be going and they do have teller machines at the auction..;)

A folding step stool is mandatory..

A great idea. The Auctioneer will see him when he stands on it to bid.

HOTFR8, too right:thumbup:

Ralf 99 you are spot on there.

It depends what they get up to price wise, some auction go way over the top and it is a matter of knowing what you are prepared to pay for it.

Seeing that rack of round stock makes my knees shake.

Strouty, me too:drool:

I suspect freight cost to Maine might put a downer on any potential purchasing opportunity however...something those of us in this part of the world are regularly frustrated by.

Ralf99 too true.

The shipping might kill the deal, but the feeling is still there.

Strouty, now you know what its like when I look at tool prices in the States..:willy_nil

Guster, yep there is lots of goodies that would look great in the Shed Downunder but space is at a premium here.

I am hearing you with the tooling so it will be interesting to see how it is all carved up. I am guessing that they will want to squeeze every dollar out of it.

My pit stop was a full service let me tell you. Certainly the swelling could be related to the pneumonia but my guess is that is related to the Cancer in the Lymph's any way a dose of radiation will not go astray as it is a precursor to the Immunotherapy in any case which I am keen to have a go at.

So true on tooling being separated from the machine. And too bad. They about all do it.

Andy, we will see how that pans out as you can see they are reasonably sorted for the auction.

Thank you one all for you visit and posts, have a top day..

I certainly hope they take the time to sell for maximum profit. That's good for buyers and sellers. Too often around here they get in a hurry and mix valuable stuff with junk and it sells for junk price to people who don't know what they've bought. I don't think it's a plan, I think it is ignorance of the auction house people and their thought that the small tooling is just more junk. I'm assuming they are more discerning in the Big A. But the writeup and pictures did not seem to be well organized.:willy_nil

Good to have a chat with other buyers anyway if you see something in a lot you like. Never know you could get a deal by taking unwanted items off their hands.

Andy, I do agree with your sentiment. I actually know the lady that puts the write up and pictures together and I should pass on your comments.
I trust the auction will be run in a succinct manner.

Drives, yes even if I don't buy anything it will be a great day out.

I am feeling great. I am off to have a PET Scan on Monday to look at just where the radiation needs to be targeted. I almost glow in the dark now that I have had that much radiation.

https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/conditionsandtreatments/pet-scan

I am looking forward to a little QST this week end as our lawns have slowed down some what with the cooler weather and there is not a lot to do in the garden.

Enjoy your weekend as well..

Steve, we are lucky to have Andy as a friend. I think he's trying to make friends with our wives as well. I for one am happy and my wife already likes Andy better than most of my other male friends.

All, yet again another package arrived in the post.

Once again we are truly humbled by Andy's generosity.

Mrs 1/2 Cup ( JAC ) loves her trivet and has already put it to use.:)

It sits pride of place in the kitchen.

Many many thanks Andy...

I'm very pleased that it met with her approval!!

Of course the ladies are not the least bit impressed by what it might take to make something, they just look at the finished product and either like it or don't. And that is certainly their prerogative.

Thanks for posting a picture so I could repost it!:lol_hitti

It is hard to wait after you mail something off, and you knew I had quit talking about it.:bounce:

P.S. Dang! I just noticed the I in Fellowship did not greet the sander, if you would be so kind as to file the paint off the I, I would be forever indebted. I could pop over and do it myself but I'm a bit busy just now.
