Sad to see a machine shop go down, but sometimes good for the buyer. One in my industrial park auctioned out last week. All the big and CNC stuff went to tool vendors, and the bidding on tooling was crazy. I managed an "extended test drive" to attend. Everything went way too high. I just wanted a small rotary table, but cheapest was $800, covered with rust! No buys for me.

1/2: did you end up going to the auction and did you help get their bids up or maybe you ended up with an item or two or three? so many old steel fab companies in our area closed their doors the past few years it was sad to be honest cause we can't rely on imports for everything especially since the importers seem to only ship the stuff that is meant to be replaced in about 5 years.

best of luck on the clean bill of health this week and i'm still sending prayers.

Handy: your little hammers and trivets are making their way around the world nicely. WELL DONE SIR!!! also I didn't look close enough and I thought you were painting the letters and not sanding the black paint off to bare metal which makes good sense.

Hoping your tune-up puts you back on track to good running order, 1/2!

I just had a triggerpoint injection in my neck yesterday to try and help alleviate the lingering effects of my car wreck. SWMBO says I'm a pain in the neck regardless.

Andy, those trivets are awesome! I watched a series of u-tub vids on aluminum casting and it looks like you've mastered the process.

Drives the auction is next month and I will be going and with out getting into the politics of it all I do agree that we can't rely totally on imports..

Thank you for your support and prayers:thumbup:

Andy we can definitely see you do have fun and who wouldn't.

All, my PET scan was done and dusted on Monday, going well but I think I am beginning to glow in the dark now with all this radiation.

My Oncologist has had a chance to digest all the results of the scan and fine needle aspiration on the lymph node. They showed tumor activity in the lymph and under the arm pit but the rest were all benign.

The net result is no radiation or chemo and I am to be put on immunotherapy now which is a relief.

Normally its a daily infusion as a day patient but for the next week or so I will be an in patient so they can keep an eye on me during the treatment as last time, which I do believe it was a coincidence, that I started immunotherapy I came down with pneumonitis ( lung infection ) but I am in a lot better place this time to have the treatment.

So no QST this weekend..

Thank you one and all, have a top day..

Steve, good luck with the immunotherapy. Are you bringing a laptop with you to the hospital? Hospital stays are no fun under any circumstance but it is torture if you are feeling even reasonably well. With any luck you will leave the hospital with one of those certificates that say "No nurses or other hospital staff were harmed in any way while Steve was a patient."

I’m glad to hear you are positive and that there is so much progress on your road to recovery.

A bit of rest with a pen and pad of paper… think of all the planning and lists you can come up with! :)

Never mind all those stainless surfaces you could polish till you could see your face in it or all the castors on gurneys and drip stands you could make run straight again. :lol_hitti

Mind you it would be great to have the time to get through my Youtube "watch later" list! :D

I hope this next week goes smooth and well for you.

xtremek, thank you..

Hoping you have a good and productive week of therapy and are back in the shed soon.

Bob

Bob, thank you.

I am hoping I am not too effected from the side effects of the Immunotherapy..

Bob , thank you as well.

I will be taking my laptop with me to hospital just to keep me sane:thumbup:
I do have a couple of books to read if all else fails. Believe it or not you do not get a lot of time to rest in hospital in between meals an rounds

:lol_hitti

The staff are pretty safe from me except when I tell them I am rating them out of 10 when the give me a cannula or blood test and leave it on the hospital stay feedback form.

Guster, this is just one part of the recovery process and there is still a ways to go.

I have been keen to get back on to the Immunotherapy for a while now.

It will certainly give me time to rest and put pen to paper.

Don't worry there is some real nice stainless benches, castors and carts in the hospital that I have had my eye on I should take a walk and do some dumpster diving behind their workshop:thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you one and all, have a good one..

1/2: I'd send you some YouTube videos of me working out with great looking gals, but i think you might need some of guys rebuilding engines to keep your spirits high. or maybe you've got some nice help at the hospital taking very good care of you?

that looks painful and hope you don't have to do that again.

best of luck for a speedy recovery and hope the doctors have your cure figured out to last for many many years to come.

is family stopping by to say hi or waiting until you get home to have a party?

take care and best wishes

Stay strong Steve. If they knew how many people were in there with you they would throw us all out. Prayers always of course! Bobby

Bobby sincerely, many thanks.

Keep strong, there are a few of us that are waiting for this week to pass quickly. Need you back to normal.

Terrick thank you as always.

X2!

When you are a person who takes care of yourself (and others) it is hard to just let others take care of you.

Keep us posted, please.

Andy you are right there.
Its hard to sit back and be waited on hand and foot but I am starting to enjoy it.

Drives I am getting well looked after the staff here are great.

The cannula does not hurt at all, its just more annoying than anything else.

I have had some of the family in to see how I am going. I am also taking the opportunity to rest as well.

I should have logged on at your absurd hour too as I have been getting 4 hourly OBs over night.

All, the immunotherapy has gone well with no ill effects as yet ( unlike my last time ) so its just a wait and see game now but so far so good. Fingers crossed I will be out of here earlier than originally planned.

All being well I will be having immunotherapy treatment every two weeks for another two months with no hospitalisation required followed by yet another CT Scan to see how things are progressing.

Thank you one and all, have a great day..

On the bright side, at least you have GJ to help pass the time.

I've heard it's on all night (not that I've ever stayed up late enough to prove it :wtf: )

Best,

So now you have a way to do a quick oil change on your arm?

Well wishes from my neck of the woods, glad your spirits are up, sometimes I think that is the worst part of anything, getting beaten down mentally.

Strouty quick oil change is right:lol_hitti

Many thanks for your kind thoughts. I totally agree the mind plays a huge part in any recovery and that can be tough to overcome..

All, I have just been discharged from hospital two days ahead of where I thought I would be let go home. :rocker:

All is well with no adverse reaction to the Immunotherapy ( at this point in time ) unlike last December when I got Pneumonitis within two days.

Thank you one and all, have a great day..

1/2: i'm not sure it's necessary when you are out of the hospital, but you might carry or wear a mask in case you get around people that might have a cold or that are sneezing or sick cause you don't want to catch anything until your immune system is firing on all however many cylinders.

I'm very happy you were released with a clean bill of health. WELL DONE SIR!!

Consider it "Time off for good behavior"

Getting out 2 days early must have been a huge relief.

Get some rest.

Take it easy and have a great day as well.

Strouty, I have not done much at all today and as you say I have been taking things pretty easy:thumbup:

Well done Steve!

Bob thank you.

Drives in terms of catching something I am better off out of hospital. I am pleased I got my flue shot in as it is in short supply here this year due to the up take from last year. A cold should not be to bad as I can cope with that and the Oncologist is ok with me returning to work this week but I still have to be extremely vigilant with hygiene.

I am looking forward to getting through the next two months of Immunotherapy without any hiccups..

Hey Steve, I just got caught up with your thread..

I didn't realise that you'd been put on the hoist for a grease and oil change and RWC.
Great to hear that you passed your road worthiness inspection.

Steve,
I'm glad the immunotherapy is not giving you any bad effects, and that you are doing well enough to go back to work.
Have fun with the drone, and know that many people are pulling for you and praying for you.
